Build rebuilding it, as well as K bikes and Honda CX’s.

Nice, another 85' K, the finest year  :laughing1:. Hopefully you get it running properly soon. Here's mine! I recently ceramic coated the entire bike. It came out better than I expected!

Although it's been posted elsewhere but because I'm still pretty chuffed about it, I'll add my "new-to-me" '86 K100RS. Some assembly required, battery not included. I hope to have it sorted by spring. I'll also add my shameless plug for parts I need, specifically the entire set of inner fairing panels.

I use cleaner wax when bringing a bike back from the dead.  I use it for general upkeep as well. Saves time since you only have to go over the bike once, not wash, dry and then wax.
Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

Bought this with only 12000 miles on it. We all know buying a 30 year old bike with just broke in milage is a rookie move, but I gave it close inspection especially on rubber parts and it ran perfect. now giving me electrical problems. Which are  intimidating but I don't mind a challenge now and then just to see if my brain still works

Here’s mine I got last year!
1994 K75S

Nostalgic for me for two reasons:
When I was growing up, my dad had a ‘88 K100LT (old pictures below). I have fond memories of that.
Second nostalgic reason is that I was born in 1994, so this bike is as young as I am!

Hey all,  A few photos of my brick. Her name is Frank. It's short for Frankenstein. The more sharp eyed among you will see why. It's an '85 K100 RS, but look it's got ABS, and the later rear grab handles. It's also sporting the later relay set up and lots of other bits, like the later wheels and the K1100 exhaust. All of these were on it when I bought it, so I'm happy with it as it is. The lunch box says 73,000kms but who know the real mileage, and I don't care. As we know these things go forever. The photo with me holding the piece of paper was taken on the day I got my full licence, about three weeks ago. At 54 years of age, I felt it was time. :-D

Is the fuel tank mounted to the frame at the rear with one bolt? How about running the last seven digits of its VIN through this checker and telling us what it indicates?
