'93 K1100LT parting out and '85 K100RT project bike
« on: May 24, 2011, 10:31:19 PM »
Last night I was riding on back roads ('85 K100RS) and a 2ft wood 4X4 came twisting and sliding across the road in front of me. I did a quick "S" to try and miss it but no luck. The wood hit and broke my right front foot peg. I went down to my local BMW shop in Walnut Creek, CA. today, (Diablo Kawasaki-BMW; small shop and family owned) and picked up a used R-front foot peg as a replacement. In talking with Kevin the lead mechanic (son of owner of dealership); he just dismantled a '93 K1100LT to part out. The engine has 115K and is complete. From what I could see it looked like all the plastic was there. At the moment all the parts are there in the corner of the garage as well as as the frame. Kevin did the dismantle this past Saturday. Kevin said the bike and all the parts of the bike are going up for sale. The shops phone number is (925) 938-8373, ask for Kevin. The shops address is 1255 Parkside Dr. Walnut Creek, CA. 94596.

Also, Kevin has a '85 K100RT that looks complete that he will sell. Kevin said that he is replacing the fuel pump and that is a nice running bike, (53K original miles). Eye balling it, it will need some TLC and some elbow grease in cleaning ... but it looks to be a complete bike, definitely a Project???  Paint ... I told Kevin that I would mention the bikes on this forum.
