1983 k100 cafe kind of
« on: August 17, 2015, 12:08:47 PM »
hey guys i bought this k100 not too long ago and I'm looking to build a cafe racer with it. I'm getting a lot of my inspiration from the bsk speed works race bikes which I'm sure most of you guys are familiar with also i have a strong passion for bmws cars so i will try and use some design cues from their cars as well (particularly the double round headlights) this is basically what i started with

the bike came with the two tanks pictured but the green one had a few small holes in it so i put on the silver one, wired up the fuel pump, put a new battery and some gas in it and the thing fired right up. gotta love fuel injection

was inspired by the bsk speed works tail fairing but unfortunately shipping costs to the u.s. are unreal so i decided to make my own.

the seat is made of fiberglass and it took all day to carve a foam mold and then cover it to get this first rough shape. the seat is still in progress but i will hope to have it done soon.

like i said earlier i want to incorporate styling cues  from bmws cars especially with the headlight. for those of you that have noticed basically every bmw made has four circle shaped headlights so for my motorcycle i would like to have at two circle light lights next to each other like this

obviously thats not the final form as I'm holding it with my hand but that is one of the lights i have from my 1995 m3 but i would like to use h.i.d. bulbs for the high beams and possibly l.e.d.s for the halos. we will see when we get there but i am also toying with the idea of making a fiberglass fairing to house the headlight and slightly cover the original gauge cluster but i would like to hear what the members of motobrick think so give me your critisizm guys!!

Two ways I know of to rotate images.

IMGUR.COM

upload your pics to imgur. you can edit there, including rotations. Then your stuff is hosted there for free, and you can post links, or embed here rather than uploading here.

WINDOWS PHOTO VIEWER

open in windows, there are little swoosh symbols to the right of the center button. these rotate the photos. It automatically saves when you close the window.
