Finally got a brick!
« on: July 17, 2013, 01:44:39 PM »
Hi everyone,

I just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Lucas and I had been trolling on Craigslist for 6 months looking for a K75S to upgrade from my GL500 (I love that bike too), and finally found one.

26k miles.

I'm slowly replacing all the fluids and adjusting things, so expect lots of questions from me.  :2thumbup: :bmwsmile

Welcome.  I made the change from the SilverWing myself.  Were you on the Chopper Charles forum at all?

Back in the spring of '91 I went from a GL500 to a K75RT.  As I remember, the beemer was much superior.  :riding:

Hi Lucas, welcome to the forum, nice looking ride. This is definitely the place to ask questions.

I wasn't on CC, but I was pretty active on CX500forums.com asking all kinds of dumb questions.  :riding:

The GL500 is such a fun bike, and dead simple to work on. The K is vastly superior in design and...well everything, but all of it's operating principles are completely different (Fuel Injection, Dry Clutch!).

The brick is like riding on a Hovercraft.

Nice bike, it looks like the one I came upon in much the same method.

Congrates!

I wonder if it has to do with liking reliable engines?

I think you might be onto something there, Lucas!
