1997 K1100lt fuel shutoff
« on: July 02, 2013, 08:20:02 AM »
I am a new K1100lt owner with a question about the fuel shutoff system. I recently purchased a 1997 K1100lt, great bike. Anyway when warm and at speed when letting off the throttle and at the point when the fuel shutoff system should take effect the bike misses and hits causing surges. The previous owner thought it was the fuel injection but I think the fuel shutoff system is not adjusted correctly. Am I missing something or is there a common issue with this 1100 that would cause this? Any ideas on what to check in what order would be a great help? Thanks.
Joe.

Could also be the grommets under the throttle bodies. ANY vacuum leaks play hell with this injection. Check all vacuum lines and plug the vapor recovery one going to the fuel tank. http://www.motobrick.com/index.php?topic=989.msg3961#msg3961

I adjusted the TPS  less than 1/2 of a degree and no more surging/jerking at speed.
Easy fix.

So did you turn it clockwise or counterclockwise?
