Been eyeballing your kit. Ever thought about/experimented using red rather than green? I had a 2002 M5 that had all red (well, more reddish amber I guess) that I thought was very effective.

The cluster is designed for green backlights and that's what works best. I've experimented with all colors - even blacklight LEDs.  The problem is that the LCD displays of the gear shift indicator and clock don't read very well at night with colors other than green.

My K1100RS actually has red LEDs installed but I don't sell that setup because I don't think people would be happy with how dim the LCDs are.

 Buy the whole kit.

You will dig the way cool Batman green glo at night.

I've had mine in for way over a year, no issues.

 Highely recommend it.
I'd rather be riding.

I have them in both bikes, both the cluster and the instruments.
I've only got one backlight led that's intermittently not working. It's in the socket or the pc strip overlay.

I will admit this upgrade is sweet. The green really stands out at night.

I was considering the kit, but I really like the red/orange on my '86 325es. I ended up just buying long life incandescent bulbs in red. Its hard to identify exactly the right bulb, as well as avoid crappy LED's that burn up really quickly.

Everything is pretty easy to see. The LCD isn't perfect, but being 20, I still have good night vision, and can see it without issue.

I have the intermittent bulb too. I've been meaning to take the cluster apart again and fix it.

Count me as a satisfied customer. The kit is really well organized, and the instructions (which cover getting the instrument cluster off the bike) are clear and complete.

I wish that installing the kit had fixed my non-functioning neutral indicator. But that's not the kit's fault.

Oh, and one small issue. At night, in town, the turn signal indicators are almost too bright. On the other hand, the brightness is a real plus on sunny days.

I bought the kit for the instrument cluster plus fuel and water temp gauges, should have spent the extra $25 and gotten all the bulbs as it will be a pain to pull the cluster off and apart again if/when the other bulbs go.

Great kit with excellent instructions, the bulbs seem a bit dim to me but the cluster is quite readable and doesn't distract you.

While riding & visiting with Frankenduck, I had him install the entire LED kit on my 91 K100RS.  He had a kit with him in Palm Springs, so he was able to do the entire dash & 2 gauges in about 40 minutes.

The pictures I took don't really show how the light kit looks - it has the most emerald green glow - not like the harsh lights that were stock on the bike, very easy on the eyes .  The two gauges also have that same emerald glow.  A superior upgrade for a small $55 price, plus he has already done the work of which bulb goes in which spot - with the light schematic that comes with the kit.

Like I said the pics don't do the kit justice, and the riding ones are a bit shaky - but you can see the difference...

I installed this kit a few weeks ago and I definitely recommend it. The directions are great and installation is straightforward. They are slightly brighter than stock, which I personally think is an improvement over the stock bulbs.

I give the kit 5 motobirds:  :mbird :mbird :mbird :mbird :mbird
