There is no spring action in switch and no where I can see where you can get at any spring that might exist.
I haven't experienced this problem but there's sufficient online information to guide a victim who is experiencing it.What seems to have happened is the pin on the left side of the photo dropped from the green button's shaft on the right side of the photo and is making a permanent bridge between the contact blades. This causes both the starter to engage when the key is turned to On and also the button to jam against the pin when it's pushed. The button seems to be held in position by a flexible covering glued to the perimeter of its housing. You'll get more clarity about exactly what has gone wrong when you disassemble it to that extent.See the story at HARDTOPTIRE.
