Hello!
my name is KhoopMastaa and I am a new member. I am a new motorcycle owner and I am currently working on restoring four bikes that I have recently come in possession of.
I would like to restore these bikes, or convert them...whatever that could mean, but I need to sell one of them to get the cash to begin the restoration process. What I would like any and all to weigh in on is:
1. What bike should I move first?
2. Which of these bikes are not worth restoring? Should I part them out?
3. Any other advice is WELCOME.
I will list the bikes with some pics and list what I have discovered about the condition they are in.
1998 k1200rs - (checkerboard)
IMG_0071.JPG (134.3 kB . 768x576 - viewed 329 times)This bike was a barn find (as was all of the biked) and it had vines growing up and through the instrument cluster. That was the first thing I removed... fairing and inst cluster to get the hard 1/2" vines out of the fork/instruments/windshield. I was successful and didnt damage any wires.
The fuel system was another story. There was gas left in the tank... and after removing the "sending unit??" and the pump/filter assembly and the filler cap, I found corrosion on fixtures, gelly/shellac gas in tank, and messed up fuel pump.
I removed battery, and all fairing. The fairing has three small cracks on the right hand side front, and one crack on left. each crack four inches. The rest of the bike looks mechanically sound. I have not pulled throttle body/air stuff, but that was my next step.
I would love to be able to get a new fuel pump assembly filter and stuff and have tank cleaned out. I would like to keep this bike if it is possible to fix/clean it up and not have it cost a fortune.
1990 K1 - don't get excited... it does not have any of the original fairing. The previous owner built a custom fairing and fenders... and possibly never finished the project. I found this forum by searching K1 cafe racer and found an old post with a good conversion....that was what I was thinking about turning this into. That being said, this bike may possibly be the hardest to work on because of what it needs. The ECM is just sitting in the battery box, the reservoir tank is there too, there are a bunch of wiring stuff just hanging out and that looks like scary spaghetti. Mechanically is it all there... look at the pics. It would make a cool cafe bike, because there is NO WAY im going to pay for the original fairing. Look at pics.

1976 r75/6 - mechanically good, no shellac in carbs or tank. Turns over, but master cylinder was frozen and I need a rebuild kit, as with caliper and rear shoes. I need a brake hose. This bike is not the coolest, but it is SOOOO easy to work on. needs tires, battery, brake hoses, and brake cable. Probably a condensor and air filter. It does have the seat. It was just removed in this pic.

1977 r100s. This is the best looking bike I have. The master cylinder needs rebuilt as do the calipers. There WAS rust in the tank , and when I mean rust, I mean I can shake the tank like a rainstick.
The carbs are fine, the valves are fine, the master cylinder is not pitted or scored. needs tires, hoses for brakes, pads, brake cable, battery.

I dont know. I do know that I do not want to chop this airhead up for parts... I have most of the original parts.
So with all that being said, these bikes belonged to a BMW collector who became unable to ride, and put them in a barn, where I found them. Mice nests? got em... wasps nests... yep. But these bikes, especially the 77 meant so much to this guy. I had become his friend and decided to take them off his hands and return them to their former glory.
So what should I do?
