I was able to get a few days of playtime in advance of some work near Vilseck, Germany for the US Army. So I rented a BMW R1200GSA and went to the Alps (Austria, Italy, and Switzerland). I loaded up my luggage on my K75s, checked it at LAX, picked it up in Munich and strapped it to the rental bike.

Here are two videos. The first is my travel to Landeck, Austria and my loop-ride through the Alps. The second is leaving the Alps, going through Germany and getting home.

My pleasure. Not too much brick-action in my videos - except for some Los Angeles freeway on the way home. I saw lots of BMW's over there. In fact, I rented my GSA from Bike Travel Service, which is in the BMW corporate-owned dealership on Frankfurter Ring in Munich. That's a cool dealership.
Hotel Enzian, where I stayed in Landeck, Austria, is an official BMW test-ride center. It's a ski destination in winter, but they cater to motorcyclists in the summer.
As you might imagine, there are plenty of BMWs on the road in the area, but also a lot of Moto Guzzis in the Alps - Moto Guzzi factory is in Mandello del Lario in Northern Italy, only about 1/2-hour drive to Swiss border.
I only saw one brick on the road during my trip, an orange/red K75s, which appeared to be all original.
Here's another shot of the Stelvio Pass (Stilfserjoch is the German name).
