Hello from Denver
« on: November 02, 2024, 02:42:04 PM »
Just got my second bike and first project bike, a running 1987 BMW k100rt. Was planning on stripping it down completely, but now I like the look of the saddlebags, so I'll keep you guys posted!

Welcome. Looks like a great project start, with Staintune exhaust and a desirable Reynolds rack. Cheers

Thanks for the reply! The exhaust has a dent, but I didn't notice it until I was flat on my back, so not worried about it. And the rack has sure made for a handy dandy laptop stand while I'm working on it.

The rack is so robust, I fabbed up a bike rack that attaches easily...there's pics of it somewhere on this site.

The main attribute of a Reynolds Rack is that it's a level surface for your beer while working on your bike.
Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

Now there's an idea, especially since I nearly took a swig from a can I had collecting oil from the transmission case
