Thanks!!!  I've been looking for that information for over a year.  Fox don't have it anymore.

It is buried on the fox site.

But,  it is also on this site in the library.  That is where I found it.

so, my FOX "double clickers" are "single clickers".  the rebound knob turned, but no clicks.  supposed to have 36 positions.  removed shock from bike to test to see if shock was working.

spring compressors on to access lock ring.

and there is the little lock ring that comes out allowing the spring to be pulled off.

got it apart...shock is working fine.  plenty of gas pressure and the rebound knob does have a major effect on the performance, even without the clicks.  put it all back together and back on bike.

anyone know how many turns of the adjuster equals the 36 clicks it is supposed to have?

On my shock it looks like 6 clicks per revolution.

after riding around a bit yesterday, already like the Fox setup.  even with the adjustments just ballparked in the middle, the bike feels much more taught and controlled,  but is not harsh.  It will be fun to play with!

BTW - huge recommendation out for Mike at Carver Performance for the rebuild and the support.  both he and his staff have been great to work with!  Fox does not support these shocks anymore.  They recommended Mike and before I even had a chance to call him, Mike had already sent me an email offering to help.

Heading to asheville, NC in a month for a vintage BMW car show,  but taking the beemer instead of one of the bimmers.  So...needed to do a couple more updates before hitting the twisty bits.

Tech update first....added SENA 10u to the shoei.

Then went for some front suspension upgrades.   Oil and springs.  I did not know when oil had been changed last or what it was.

Also thought the springs were stock,  so bought some racetech single rates.  Got the old springs out to find.....they were Progressives!  Pic of the two together.

Oh well, put the racetech's in anyway.
Pulling spring caps.  19 mm socket works great for pushing them down.

Had to make some new spacers.

230mm

Filling with 410ml of honda ss8 10wt.

Put it all back together and checked sag.  25mm, which is just about what I was looking for.

No chance for testing yee ha yet...next weekend!

I might have used some gasket sealer. Those lower intake seals are expensive. Even I did not buy new ones hah

Tested the yeeeha factor of the new suspension today.

Like!

No îdea what fork oil was in it...it was a dirty blue color.  It was about 410ml.  Between the ss8-10w and the racetech springs, bike feels much better than with the Progressive springs.  Ride is taught, but not harsh and brake dive noticeably less.

about 27k on the odo.

been a while since i updated...

found a set of city cases locally in great shape.  these things are great for day trips!

picked up an Aluma MC10 trailer off local craiglist in case i needed to retrieve disabled bike and to make it easy to take the K somewhere fun while eliminating the ride through the crazy traffic in the DC area.

added venom wheel chock and 4 d-ring tiedowns.

the aeroflow windshield is great in the rain and cold, but wanted to try the smaller stock one for the summer heat.  bought a new one and all the attachment parts from Max.
it was about a 5min project to swap.

test ride confirmed....way better in the heat of summer.  can swap back in the fall.

decided to fix the trashed splines on the driveshaft.  ordered an Ei driveshaft from Ted's Beemershop.  arrived in less than a week.  yeah!

planned install this morning before a ride tomorrow.  bad idea.

got the old one out by pulling the final drive and pulling.

shocking the amount of slop in the joint between the diff and the DS with the old DS compared to the Ei one.  this is going to be great!.

went to put the new one in...not gonna go.
new u-joints way too big to fit the easy way.   argh.  have to remove whole carrier and insert from front.
more mess and time i had not planned on.

what a pita.  driveshaft would not go on and "snap" lock in.  finally got it on and DS would not go straight.  flexed it up...felt something snap.  took whole dang thing apart again.

DS was built incorrectly.  grease nipple was on the wrong side of joint.  it was interfering with the end of the tranny output shaft....and broke off.

now i have disassembled bike and no driveshaft.  (not going to put the trashed old one back in)

Ted was helpful on the phone, but i got the last DS he had in stock. he is going to deal with manufacturer this week to get a replacement.

Shite!
Can't you get rid of the snapped off nipple and carry on assembling.I can't remember having that facility for greasing the needle rollers on my original drive shaft so...

If you can find one they can be replaced with a hex plug. My side stand had one which I replaced with a grease nipple. I've also seen an Allen plug try a bearing shop.

temporary/permanent fix....

used ez-out to get the remainder of the grease fitting out.

could not find a plug so bought variety pack of metric grease fittings.  6mm

cut the "head" off a short fitting.
filed smooth
filled center cavity with JB Weld

screwed it into drive shaft

test fit...no clearance issues.
reassembled bike.
good to go!  (for now, still want to get correct driveshaft....)

Long time since update.

Final drive splines were toast.   Had the whole unit rebuilt.   Much better.  No more slop in driveline and it shifts much smoother.

On the long test ride..... blew out the left fork seal.  Refreshed both of them.   Simple task.

Take it apart.

Just followed the instructions several have posted.

Official bmw seal driver tool....1.5in pvc coupler.

This was hardest part... using a 60ml fork syringe to put 420ml of this in each fork.   Slow work!

Test ride went well.. no leaks.  It is about ready for trip to Asheville, NC next month.

Oh, while it was laid up over the winter, also put EBC rotors and HH pads on front and rear.

And it got a set of new Pilot Active tires.

And a new old stock seat.

Damn!  That's a nice shop you work in.

I'm too embarrassed to take many photos of where I work on my bikes.  Have to do a lot of cropping to get the background out of them.

I just read through your entire build.
A great thread you got going and an awesome machine youve built for yourself.  Good work bud.

I just finished a lot of the same work you did, on my own 87 K75.

I will be looking to upgrade suspension next winter.

Wondering if you still got the barbacks laying around and if you would be interested to move them out of your way?

thanks.  this thread actually covers three different shops...early part was the 16x24 shop at my old house.  mid part was in my garage under current house.  latter part is in the new shop i just had built last fall.  my "garage mahal" pre-retirement present.
