Title: Helmet lock
Post by: Adam M on August 12, 2018, 11:07:53 AM
Did anybody successfully attached his helmet using K75 helmet lock with sidebags attached  ?

It works with a half or modular helmet, full face not so much.  I never use it, too easy for malicious persons to cut the strap.  Come to think of it never use the saddlebag locks or the fork lock.  Just don't keep anything worth stealing anywhere.

All my bikes have ABS.  I find that the ABS modulator's bleeder is a very handy place to hang a helmet.  I guess that to the uninitiated it may look like some sort of helmet lock.  In any event, so far my helmet has always been there when I come back.

Out of the tank bag, onto one of the rear grab rails.

You are right, but it's a pity - I have a big problem in moving a bike sideways on my narrow sidewalk :).

The Helmet lock is useless.  I just use a cable bike lock.

The Helmet lock is useless.
I read the instructions so I use it to hang my helmet from the grab handle, not to secure my helmet from thieves with narrow heads. :giggles

Now I realize I could have just used an S-hook end from a rubber bungee, but the idea of having both a secret code for helmet access and the manly action of a carabiner was compelling at the time of purchase. You've tarnished the luster of all that with your penetrating analysis, bizz.

Sorry to rain on your parade. Look at it this way, carabiners were kool 20 or 30 years ago when they were the real Macoy! Now it is just another piece o crap that everybody feels they need to have.........just to hang their keys on if nothing else. Originally designed to hold a climber and his gear to the side of a cliff, the pedestrian ones are designed to separate you from a a few bucks in your wallet.  And maybe lock a helmet to your motorcycle if your willing to spring for the locking version........very kool!

My money is mostly tied up in locking carabiners so not this time. Extra salt would be ok.
