Title: Kunicorn Sighting!
Post by: BrickMW on October 06, 2017, 01:47:42 PM
The other day I was turning left to go Northbound, and hiding in the left lane of the Southbound traffic stopped at the red light I spotted a Kunicorn!! I had to try and get a closer look. I had to go a mile or so across the bridge before I could u-turn and begin my pursuit, then through one of the busiest parts of town about 5 miles and 15 red lights, about half of which I got stopped at. So just when I was ready to give up, turn around, and return to my original route, I spot it again, only one light in front of me. I was able to catch up and snap a quick shot from behind, then when the light changed, as luck would have it, he turned in the gas station just past the intersection, so I followed in true stalKer fashion.

So this is Bob's beautiful K1 and equally beautiful custom trailer. He hails from Wisconsin and was on his way to the Barber Vintage Motorcycle Festival.. anyone going should definitely get a closer look. Bob is a very nice, very approachable guy who loves K's, and loves to share his machine's history and developments. He was nice enough to let me snap a few better quality shots more deserving to share.

Yes Martin, he said it was a full custom job from New Zealand that he had painted and powder coated to match this K1. Excuse my poor memory, but I believe he said it was once a different color and behind a blue K1 he had before this one. The moto half of the hitch arrangement was adapted from a standard hitch kit, but I cannot recall the brand he quoted.

Thanks  very interesting, I might look a bit further not that I ever wish to go the trailer route. I've got a mate with an R100 with a cracked rear frame due to trailer hauling.
Regards Martin.

Trailers can get a little out of hand in the aesthetics department especially if colour coordinated, but this setup is very tasteful.
