Greetings from Denver, CO!
« on: June 02, 2025, 10:04:22 PM »
Greetings from Denver, CO. Here's a sub-par photo of my two bricks in the driveway. I need to put the black one into the garage and do some work to get it back up to its previous form. I'm strongly debating removing the S fairings on the red bike and going naked with either some C bars or even RT bars (I like the upright position).

Hope to meet some more brick enthusiasts out in the wild and in here on the forums. Long time lurker, first time poster.

Barbacks on the S make a big difference without needing to change the fairing.  Hate to see what looks like a nice survivor lose one of it's best feature.

Nice bricks, especially the S with the desirable belly pan.

Forgive my lag here, I got busy over the weekend. @ProdigalSon, I need new tires, front forks redone (seals and new springs), a couple plastic bits here and there, front brake reservoir, and it's started weeping from the rear main ever so slightly. While I'm in there it's due for a spline lube.

@Chaos, I am going to experiment with some risers while keeping the S bars. I did remove all the fairings today, as well as the bell pan (@natalena), but kept everything tidy and saved all the hardware and mounts. I discovered several areas with missing hardware which must have contributed to the front fairing shake I was experiencing.

I am on the fence about putting all the fairing pieces back on in the future, but no matter what, I want to paint it another color. To me the red is less pleasing than black or white. I cobbled together a standard/naked headlight and lunchbox combo and will be trying that out. If I could find a nice small fairing for that I might go that route until I repaint all the other bits.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

That fairing can be problematic, screws loosen or the wrong ones get put back in.  I had the 10mm bolts fall out out mine causing the whole thing to sag.  Definitely save everything, always a good market for good body parts,
