K75 Radiator Cowl won't fit stripped down RT?
« on: June 07, 2018, 04:42:10 PM »

Does anyone know why a standard K75 standard front radiator cowl wouldn't fit a K75 RT?

I took the fairing off the RT and thought it would be a straight fit, but won't go near.

Is the RT radiator bigger or some other reason or are there more than one version of the Cowl for different years of K75s.

Bike and Cowl pictures attached. Cowl was scruffy but just assumed it would fit, after a repaint of course.

The K75RT have a K100 fuel tank which is different from the other K75 models...that's the reason.

Well scupper me timbers! OrvsomeOr so similar who'd have thought that...

Now wondering if a K100 cowl is a thing... Will check thanks for the knowledge.

To make the confusion complete, the naked K100II have a K75 fuel tank.

Perhaps this may help..........

If you wanted to mount that cowl type, besides all the obvious smaller radiator stuff, you would need to fabricate some mounting pins to the tank (or make bracketry to suit) to support the front of the cowl...I had an RT and converted it to standard and had to do just that..

Alternative would be to obtain aftermarket K100 side cowls (theres a German custom parts shop that sells these) but their looks are subjective..

Thanks, I noticed the noticed the custom parts. Guess they just paint up and are only side pieces not a full cowl?

With the info above does a K100c cowl exist and fit the RT?

Comments on other threads say they are rare, but does that part exist...?

You don't see this parts on ebay everyday.........................
It could be a flimsy fit with the smaller K75 rad, maybe you could add some rubber or similar at part #11
on each side.

Radiator cowl

Motorworks maybe have some of the parts: Cowl parts

Thanks Inge - I'll give Motobrick a ring, but I'm guessing they won't have it as they are so scarce from what I can see.
