Newbie BMV K75 (half bmw, half mv)
« on: January 05, 2023, 09:24:06 AM »
Thought I'd come and share my K75, I have been customising it for a few years and all that is left to do is some final bits and work out why she runs on 2 at idle.

1: Welcome! Nice orange frame!
2: Seat looks a bit uncomfortable but may is better than appearances
3: Riding position looks rather forward leaning, but again, maybe comfortable for you?
4: running on 2? I presume you mean running on 2 out of  3 cylinders when idling -- I don't know. But you've come to the right place to figure it out, especially if you don't mind getting your hands greasy, your knuckles bruised, and potentially, your ego bruised as well!

Have fun Love my K75.

Welcome, Sorry to hear you are having a bit of a problem.  If it is only running on two cylinders at idle it tells me that the computers and injectors are probably working and the problem is a minor air leak on one of the cylinders

Have you done a throttle body balance?  I suspect that you have an air leak or a misadjusted throttle butterfly that is causing a lean mixture at idle.  A throttle body balance may identify the cylinder and confirm the cause.  You can also try checking for inlet leaks with some propane.  The throttle body bushings are known to get leaky and cause problems with the mixture.
