greetings...

my vote is neither...

i have had to replace many seals before i started replacing the bushings when i did the seals... now the motos with new bushings never gotts seals again... i do run traxxion dynamics (http://traxxion.com/product/fork-guard-kit/) and do use a homemade sealmate (http://sealmate.net/) and flush and change my suspension fluid often...

traxxion 100% positive...

I pack heavy silicone grease between the seal and dust cover and change the grease every 1-2 years depending on how much dust is encountered.
When changing the grease I also do a run around with a home made seal mate. I last changed the seals probably twenty years ago. However if I rode a lot of dusty or gravel roads I'd definitely be running gaiters as well.
Regards Martin.

I'll have to try the Traxxion fork guard; always used some 35mm film negatives to clean the seals.

Gaitors can add a retro look to the bike, which is nice in some cases.

I installed gaiters on mine, too. I ride at least a hundred miles on gravel roads per week.

Gaiters.  The less shiny stuff the better.

My sentiments exactly.

And they keep the crap out of the seals.  Only thing is that  I need to remove the dust seals to put them on because of the tight clearance between the brace and the lower fork tube.

That is one handsome motorcycle.
