MAX BMW, CONNECTICUT

MAX BMW, CONNECTICUT

Spent a day and a half there in the spring of 2012 after my rear master cylinder died 3300 miles from home. The brake fluid spray contaminated the shock innards (which I discovered was mounted upside down!) so I had to wait overnight for a replacement shock and master cylinder. It cost me some bucks to get out of there, but they were totally professional and got me on my way as soon as possible. They also have a lobby full of vintage bikes in amazing condition so there's plenty of stuff to look at. Old cemetery across the street has grave markers from the 1700's.

Hi Tim,

It's funny how there is a guy on YouTube (Chris Harris) who posts bunch of service videos on the K100 who just tears MAX BMW apart every chance he gets.  Chris Tore down a K100 for spline lube and every chance he gets, he says how MAX BMW didn't do the work they charged the customer for and mistakes made.  While I would probably never be in the neighborhood, but I would love to hear what other people say.

My personal experience:

Max in CT has friendly, useful guys at the parts desk.

I've dealt with the sales guys at Max in NY and they were great.

Max's website has great parts fiche, and the service from their mail-order parts department in NH is great.

The Parts guy I was dealing with was far from friendly. Maybe he was having a bad day when I was there.

Service rep and tech were polite and seemed to be on the ball.

When i call,  I get Rusty usually.   Very friendly and helpful, and when i do online ordering Drew, i guess is the Internet shipping guy, is on the ball, great communication and fast shipping.   Can't say how the in person service is since i love on the west coast.

If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with, as the ancient ballad tells us.  :oldguy:

MaxBMW is my go to place when I need/am forced to buy a new part for my bricks.  Easy to find parts, they take PayPal, and the shipping is pretty quick considering they usually have to get parts from the distributor's warehouse.

They have the online parts thing nailed as far as I'm concerned.

Oh, and the M&M's are nice...

Yeah, that was a pretty funny typo alright.   Can't seem to edit typos.  I guess i do love on the west coast, since I'm a native southern California dude.   But at least i can ride almost every day ,  great weather in my neck of the woods. Cheers.
