My K75's used about a quart in 4,000 miles.

My 16V K100's used a quart in about 800-1000 miles with 15w40 Rotella T6 full synthetic.

I use use 5W30 Quaker State Ultimate Durability in my K75's.

My bricks done well over 100,000 km. I use Castrol GTX 20w50. I fill it to midway between the top of the red circle and the red dot. 10,000 km (~6,000 miles) later, at the next service it's still at about the same spot, but I spose it must have used some. That's so good I sometimes think there must be something wrong. Hopefully some others say their bricks use virtually no oil, or mine might have something wrong.

Mine's never burnt more than half a quart between 5000 mile oil changes.  Surprising, since every once in a while it will fog the neighborhood on startup.

apologies for not including K1100's in poll.
as maximum voting options are 5 and not 6 boxes to tick.

i run castrol gtx diesel engine oil 15W-40 at 5000km intervals.

my 1991 k75     ,  55,000kms  , uses no oil at all

my former k1100 required topping up every 1000 kms

My 93 K1100LT with 55K "burns" a bit less than a quart every 2,000 miles.

My K75s don't burn that much though.

It varies from bike to bike for some mysterious reason.

FYI: The BMW service manuals for K75s, K100s and K1100 list "Permissible oil consumption" as 0.15 liters for every 100km. That converts to 1.5 liters per 1,000 or 2.55 quarts per thousand miles. That's A LOT of oil.    44271

Both my K1100's and my R1100 all use some oil. The 'amount' varies with each bike and how they're ridden.

I've owned it for 20+ years and I've never have to top up oil between services.

The only oil my K75 used was the stuff leaking from the oil pump (since repaired but now there's coolant dripping from it boohoo).
It never used any oil between changes until the pump started leaking.

I've never had to add any between oil changes except when I did an 800 mile blast on the interstate averaging 75-80mph which required a half quart.
Use Mobile 1 15W50.

My bikes act like strokester, If I stay below 7,000 RPM they use very little oil, start pushing the red line and the oil level will drop. So it makes sense that the 75s use a bit more, they love to rev. FWIW I run 15-40 rotella (I work on heavy equipment so put that stuff in everything).

My '88 would go through about a quart every 4K, mostly through the oil pump and rear main seal.
The '92 motor I put in with fresh seals doesn't lose any any.
Generally run Castrol 20W50.

My 91 K100 16V uses vast amounts oil - depending on revs.

If I ride with my wife (so never going over 4,500 RPM) it uses no oil at all.

If, however I go  on a spirited ride in the twisties alone where I will hit the redline occasionally and am above 5,000 RPM most of the time the oil level will drop from the top of the site glass to the dot in the  middle in 150 miles....
