I bet they added those plastic cups over the filters after getting caught in the rain and those K&N's got waterlogged and gagged the bike.  That's what happened on my Ural, tho strangely it's never been a problem with my K.   Maybe that's because the K&N is UNDER the tank as god intended!  :hehehe

I think the plastic over the air cleaners are more for choking down air flow then keeping out rain. That being said,it seems the position of the handlebars, seat, and foot pegs would put your head right between those air cleaners.  The air cleaner noise at 6 or 7K must be deafening, if someone does really ride it bike.
