Fuel level sensor

 I'm searching for a fuel level sensor for my 92 K75rt. Euromoto is out motorbins doesn't have new or used and I emailed Duck and he is out as well.
 I have a couple of Reynolds k bike racks if someone has a sender to trade. I also have a set of OEM bags and racks that I'm not using.
 Any leads would be great. Thank you

So I have disassembled my fuel level sensor and probably not fixable. The resistor board wiring is broken in several places. Also on the three sided white plastic piece that comes into the tank from the outside of the tank bottom, two wires (green? And yellow) that are on the same side but separated by the plastic are not attached. I have looked at a lot of pictures and can't tell how they are soldered or how they attach to that white piece.
 So if the wires on the resistor board are broken and the 2 wires aren't soldered is there a simplified instructional on correcting sensor with pictures. I've read a lot of the info here and still at a loss.
 Also if I need to replace it with an aftermarket model will there be a low fuel level light?
 As you can tell I'm part of the electrically challenged community. ( Don't lay into me Laitch).
 I bought this bike for my girl and to rehab and cant get my head around the fuel level sensor.
 I'm moving forward on cleaning and Deoxing all electric connectors. Former owner stopped riding due to a knee issue and I'm keeping him updated on it's progress. Only Aprx. 25000 miles. I had a K75 that I gave to my son. This is an rt. My son's is a low seat K75 standard that I rehabed with a lot of help here back around 2018.

That sender is finished because of wire damage. Your mission is to get current to the pump. Follow this rider's lead so you can get moving, leftie, then keep a lookout for another OEM. As you might have learned, used senders can be disappointing but being able to ride without one makes up for it.

Thanks Laitch, just ordered the eBay sensor and heading over to euromotoelectrics for the rest.
I'll keep an eye out for a new OEM. Darn pricey those OEM parts. Thanks

That's what I did. You won't have a fuel level sender, . but at least it will run.

Just wanted to pass on some info. When you look to buy the fuel level sender on eBay make sure you purchase the correct w-125?. I bought the one in the link a couple of posts up and it was the wrong size. Make sure you get the one where there is aprx. 2+1/4 inches between the holes on the mounting plate. I only found one vendor for the correct one. Coming from China so another 2 weeks out. If anyone needs a smaller one you can have the one I purchased.

I have received my fuel sensor from China and have soldered the fuel pump wires to its base.
 It has two wires, green for ground and yellow is positive for the fuel pump. The OEM plug that exits the tank has four wires, brown is ground and the green is the pump positive. The other two are fuel level lighting I believe.
 So if I clip the OEM pigtail with the four wires and connecting the brown and green wires together, then the oem green wire to the yellow wire on the new sensor should I leave the OEM white and yellow wire disconnected and taped off? Will this allow me to power the new fuel pump and not interfere with anything else electrical when starting the bike?  I'm getting closer and want to avoid any issues. Thank you in advance

you are good as long as you connect the +'s together and -'s together. I just cut off the new connector and used the original 4 pin [now a 2 pin]. and yes, you only need the 2 wires.

 Also I double posted this inquiry in different places and wasn't aware this caused confusion.

 Just got back from a long road trip on my airhead and haven't posted any progress on my 1992 K75 rt.
 So after installing the fuel level sender from eBay I was able to start the bike. With lots of smoke due to the fogging oil I put in the cylinders. I went for a couple of short trips around the neighborhood and happy it went thru all the gears and all electrics were operating fine.
 So when I returned I started the bike and went for a short trip. Aside from blinking abs light it ran ok. However when I tried to start it yesterday it wouldn't start. I saw fluid and thought it was a fluid leak. I had changed all the oils prior to my road trip.
 Then I smelled gas and checked the fuel lines with no apparent leak. Looked inside the tank and it was empty.
 Just took off my tank and the oring on the sending unit won't seal with the aftermarket plate that bolts to the bottom of the tank. Would it be a mistake to put some gasket sealer on both the plate and the tank bottom to get it to seal and hopefully stay in place?

If that is the o-ring that came with the plate from China? What are its measurements in comparison with the oem plate's o-ring and how do the measurements of the o-ring seats of each compare?
I'd be reluctant to use sealer in this application.

 Hey Laitch,
 An oring did not come with the Chinese eBay sender. I ordered the one I have from Euromotoelectric which is OEM demensions. The bevel on the new sender plate pushes the oring into the tank bypassing the groove on the gas tank where the plate bolts up when I try to secure the four Phillip head screws holding the plate. I thought I might try some nitrile gasket sheet material to make a new gasket. I measured the oring and it is 45mm I.d. and 54mm o.d. I've ordered some gasket material and my thought is to use blue hylomar and try to create a good seal. All would be fuel resistant. What would you consider doing?

After I posted my last response you had me thinking. In fact a gasket did come with the Chinese fuel level sender. I removed the OEM oring for the sender and installed the one that came with the eBay sender. It seems to have sealed the plate to tank space but not sure if it is an exact sealed fit. Tried to slosh some gas around it and no leak. I'll look closer at it from the fill hole tomorrow as the fumes were starting to effect my brain. Always appreciate your insight on these matters.

Mine sealed up with no leak, and  I think I used some aviation sealant, but don't remember which o ring I used.

Just wanted to let anyone interested know that Euromotelrctrics is now offering a fuel level sensor. It is an aftermarket model.
I believe it's produced by Enduralast.
