Coming back to Motobrick.com
« on: February 15, 2022, 10:32:02 AM »
I just re-registered after a years long absence.  My K100/1100RS has been in "storage" for years, barely getting ridden at all.  The good news is that it is stored inside inside a climate controlled space.  Several years ago I went through it mechanically to get everything up to date.  A year or so after that I went through it cosmetically to return it to a looker.  For several years now I have just ridden it to get state inspections to keep it registered.  This year I have gone through the suspension to make the ride better and have decided to keep it in the bike rotation and ride it more.

I bought it new in Oct. 1985 and have just turned 327,000 miles.  The act of turning that number proved too much for the odometer gears and they gave up.  A new set of gears and we are back in business.  Almost 20 years ago, rather than rebuild the 8 valve engine, I swapped a '93 K1100 16 valve engine, Motronic, airbox and exhaust.  Needless to say, this is the setup I wish it had from the factory.
