Okay I'm new here so here it goes.
This is my 1988 K100LT Project Bike. The Motor and Trans are in very good shape, but I will need to do some body work.
Have  Windscreen ordered and should be here later this coming week.

Thanks Frankenduck & Mystic Red.
Most of the repairs have been the plastics so far. I did have to replace the Mono shock as it was shot.
The right side has most of the damage to it. The right mirror is beat up and I'm looking for one of those.
The right bag is broken on the bottom and the cover has road rash. I may be able to fix it but not sure.

Mystic Red, The color code under the seat says it is 647.

I did get a sweet deal for this one. They also included a spare motor.

Thanks again for the comments...

That you'll probably still have when you sell it.

My K has company now.  Got my stepson's CBR while he's in South Africa for a couple weeks, and the 3 wheeled thing I picked up last month.  Just hope the wife doesn't want the van in the garage anytime soon.  Now, which one to ride to work tomorrow? :yes

My first and only K-bike. A 91 K75RT.

Bought it last summer from the 3rd owner at 80,000 miles. Came with a nearly complete paper trail of service work which was great.

I rode it to visit family in RI last October and ended up leaving it there. The 72 hour ride home to Olympia, WA a couple of weeks ago was mostly uneventful except for the 2-hour lightning storm with 50mph gusts and pouring rain just east of Rapid City, South Dakota. I'm surprised I lived through that. Scariest experience of my life. Wish I had a GoPro camera rolling during that.

Attached pic is from a break in Wyoming, the only bit of non-slab on the whole trip.

Not Klassic but a K all the same....  I got this 86 75C through a friend last year. It was Dead. Six months of dicking around (dirty work and money) got it back on the road.

That IS a Klassic K.  The term refers to K75s, K100s, K1100s. (And even K1s.) Before they got rid of the real gas tank and started covering them in Tupperware.

A rose surrounded by thorns... :bmwsmile

It's a '96, with just over 70,000 on the clock. I've owned it almost 16 years!
Took this pic at J&P's Open House in Anamosa, IA a couple weeks ago.

So far, I've managed to do all of my service work and maintenance myself, with the help of the Online Service manual, Max BMW Parts Fische, and some pointers from other K bike owners on forums.

Maybe you mean "classic" to mean not modified.  This is a classic K-bike even if it is modified.

Well done,

Technically, a classic vehicle is at least 20 or 25 years old. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classic_car

K75s, K100s and  K1100s are all based on the original K100 design and the term "classic" distinguishes them from later K designs.  They've been called "classic K bikes" for quite some time.

Not new to BMW but new to K bikes.  I bought 3 of them before I found the one I wanted to keep.  88 K75S purchased from the second owner.  He owned it from 1995 until I bought it in April.  31,000 miles (documented) and all I've done to it other than ride it is put a front tire on it, change the fluids and install the low seat I bought from J O.  I'm more of a lurker than a poster but I'm sure I'll chime in on something from time to time.

I have not had a bike in 26 years,  I wanted one of these back when they came out, but could not afford one.  I came upon what I think was a great deal on this 85 K100 RS, $1200.00,  I put a dry cell battery in it for 175, new seat cover 100, nos mirrors just to get the mounting plates for 190, and I plastic welded the rear left turn signal that was broke off.  All I have left is to fix the front left caliper that is leaking.
It runs great and has only 71k on the odometer.
Does anyone make crash bars for this bike,  I have not ridden in a long time and would like to protect the bike in case I lay it down.

The BMW "engine protection bars" are rubber mounted and will tear right off in a getoff with any speed involved.  A more appropriate name for them would be "parking lot drop bars."

Your best option is to not crash. :yes
