Hi
Made a taller windscreen, using polycarb, to reduce wind noise.
Its a big improvement, especially if, like me, you have tinnitus (ringing in ears)
Heated the four lines where bending was required using two electric elements from the kitchen benchtop heater. It had a lot of fine scratches, which l mostly removed by glazing with a soldering torch flame.
Made a few mistakes, and learned just as many lessons for my next attempt which will hopefully be good.

Yeow that is tall.
Unless you have seriously upgraded the lower mounting points I would be careful riding that at speed. Wind pressure from the increased height could rip the stock ones oUT.

do they fit under a helmet. I have a problem with most , when I put on my helmet [shoei 1200], it knocks them out.

The image and text at the site link explains how they stay put. They do; at least mine do. That's why I use them. Correct size selection is probably critical.

whats your gas mileage in a head wind... how does it sail thru the wind with side gusts... is it easy to do a stoppie with a tail wind...

I also suffer from tinnitus and had a specialist clinic make up moulded earplugs for me. They each have a small canal moulded into them that equalizes air pressure so that you don't feel blocked ear syndrome, and so that you can hear normal traffic noises including engine sounds but at a safe level. The cost was covered under my health insurance (yeah for Socialised medicine).

I had some made too, and one would fall out when I put on my lid. they were over $100, I was able to return them as they told me I could if they didn't work out.

I've worn hearing protection for years(but not often enough) and these are the best I've ever used short of custom molded. I get at least a month of use from a pair. The surface is sealed so they are washable, they're easy to install, and do a good job.

WOW! That is one tall windscreen.
I always like to look over the screen and even on my R100RT with a Parabellum I look 1-2 inches over the top with the breeze channeled over the top of my helmet. The envelope of quiet air can get quite warm without any cooling air flowing through the mesh gear.
My K75S bikes present no buffeting and I've always used Howard Leight disposable ear plugs which have a Noise Reduction Rating of 32 but have always wondered about the others on the market.
Many years of work as a USAF aircrew member taught me the importance of protecting my hearing.

My question is why are most respondents in this thread continuing to copy the photo of the blue K-bike into their posts when it's the only photo in the entire thread?
In my case I used the reply rather than quote selection and did not expect the pic to copy.

I was trying to open the windshield photo posted in this thread. Since I can't figure out how to open anything in the gallery I'll just ignore it. Probably nothing in there but photos of Cappuccino racers and dumpsters anyway...

I havnt had it long so assume its same as normal for side winds.
Ive done 200kmh (120mph) with no problems and only got four bolt holes at the moment, first and hopefully only time at that speed.
It took me hours to get that photo on, ill try get help to put more on.
i overheated it in a few places creating some white spots, im new to working with plastic, im hoping my second attempt will be good enough.
Took four hours.
i think its above the top of the helmet but anyway cuts wind a lot
There is less wind turbulance (the key tag doesnt flop around) and I dont get wind in my face with the visor up.
im rapt with it for a first attempt.
