I'll add mine on Monday.  It was a great ride - aside from the thieving maids and the non-transmitting transmission.
Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

Leaving North Idaho for the Armpit of Iderhoe.

Liked the truck in the middle of the field.

Passed through the rolling hills of the Palouse country , home of the Giant Earthworm.

Not my shot but one from the top of Steptoe Butte and is a good one of the country I rode through.

Palouse country ends abruptly at the Lewiston Hill. Stopped for some shots.

Old Lewiston Grade, aka Spiral Highway= drool.

Some one planted this bike here. WTF?

Note where this bike is planted. WTF?

First night in the hotel I was introduced to the sorted practice of vaping by pros....

Two classic bikes, MR's and Boso's.

I didn't get many pics of the ride as I was trying like hell to keep up with these 4 mofos.
AM rest break.

And another AM break.

Turkus

Hamilton, MT lunch break. Bikes resting quietly.

PM rest break.

Chasing small specks of motobricks.........

Johnny was trapped finally behind a slow mover and I caught up.....

Duck waited patiently for me.

After dinner, obligatory Stanley sunset shot..........

AM wake up call....

jo, mo.........

duckling......

Couldn't resist this sign at a gas stop..

Then it started to unravel.........you know the tale.

Duck trying to work some clutch magic.......to no avail.

Well we all know about the tow job and all is well.........Duck's after ride toe job.

I gots more but they are even more boring..........hard to to keep up with a photog pro like Micki even though I had poke her once in a while to keep up the frantic picture taking pace. She likes to nap.......Later

After a soggy start in Friday morning Seattle traffic, I met up with the Flying Duck in Issaquah.
We headed east on I-90 over Snoqualmie Pass where it didn’t get any drier until we crested the pass, then things began to dry out and the views improved – sorry, no pics here as I had the camera tucked in the tank bag – nice and DRY.

We stopped at the Red Horse Diner in Ellensburg for breakfast. The RHD is a throwback to earlier days and chock full of Auto-Americana.

Breakfast is served
Their “German Sausage” looked, and tasted, more like Polish Sausage but I was hungry and didn’t care – pretty tasty fare and the price was reasonable.

We rolled out of E-Burg and east towards Moses Lake for our (my) first gas stop as I was “recalibrating” a new gas gauge that had been recently replaced under warranty (again).

The Flying Duck

We turned off I-90 at the Ritzville/Washtucna and headed south/southeast on Hwy 261

Stopping, one of many times, to scrape the bugs off the visors…..

And on through The Palouse we ride……lotsa yyyyeeeehhhhaaaawwww !!

Across the Snake River

On to Hwy 12 to Clarkston, WA / Lewiston, ID – depending on which side of the river you are on…..

Arriving at Mac’s Cycles in Clarkston where I had pre-arranged a new front tire for the RT, knowing that it wouldn’t survive the weekend ahead.

The Duck thought it was it was such a good idea that he got one too !!

As the timing turned out, J O and M O rolled into town just as The Duck’s service was being completed, and Bosozuko (Steve), arrived at Mac’s just as we were firing up the motos to make the ¼ mile trek to the hotel.
J O was in thrash mode, trying to clear an ABS code after replacing the sensor that he “fine tuned” last week.

Off to dinner at Rooster’s Waterfront Restaurant – a short walk from the hotel

Off to the bar while we burned up our 20+ minute wait for a dinner table outside on the patio, overlooking the Snake River

Lotsa weird décor in this place…

Dinner on the veranda…..

PuckBurgler and Cheez………..

Mystic Red/Reb/Rob (Scott) applying a smidge of ground pepper to season his fare…

Duck ‘n Ribz…..a portion of which would be used as “manifold food” when he camped this weekend (note: the camping part never happened – what happened to the ribz, Duck ?)

J O extolling the virtues of “vaping like a moe” to our wonderful waitress, Roxanne – boy did she earn her tip tonight !!

And what would a proper meal be without dessert ??

J O knows what he wants……

A little “after dinner vaping” as the sun sets on a great first day………….

Day 2 – Saturday, June 25, 2011

Heading out on Hwy 12 from Clarkston, WA / Lewiston, ID

Rest Stop…..with a bunch of muscle cars that were just leaving as we were pulling in – supposed to be some big car show around that weekend

Back on the road…to Lolo Pass

A mixture of new and old at the top of the pass…..

J O & M O rollin’ thru the “Moose Crossing Zone” – I was trying to grab a photo of them crossing over the warnings on the pavement but they were few and far between

J O doing his “Bird” imitation

Mystic Red, Rob, Reb……whatever

Rollin’ south from Lolo, MT in search of lunch…….me hungry now

Throw in a few miles of graded gravel roadway just to get your attention

Finally……lunch at last – The Bitterroot Brew Pub in Hamilton, MT

Chicken Caesar Salad for me

Burglers ‘n stuff for them…..

Rollin’ again with happy tummy – southbound on US 93 alongside the Salmon National Forest

Note the speed warnings:

Bug scraping and vaping break…….and Micki’s camera battery died

Time to play Follow The Duck……….

Heading into Stanley, Iderhoe on ID 75 – getting late in the day and the sun was shining directly into our faces (and camera lenses)

The Bridge Street Grille where we had dinner (and my camera battery gave up the ghost with the spare was back in our motel room)

As J O sez:…..more later……

I am so busted.  That turn was so tight that I couldn't stay in my lane.

Day 3 - Sunday

Sunrise over Stanley, ID where the Evil BMW Blinking Snowflake made an appearance – registering a “brisk” 36° at 0700hrs on Sunday morning

Our lodging for the previous evening – The Mountain Village Lodge

A word of advice for potential visitors – do NOT eat at the Mountain Village Restaurant, at least for breakfast anyways. Mystic Red, Bosozuko and I wandered over there with every intention of getting a decent meal before the day’s ride began. My sausage and eggs were “passable” and the “hash brown triangles” were something straight from the freezer section of your local supermarket, Scott’s Breakfast Burrito was “under-cooked” to say the least, and Steve’s French Toast resembled nothing more that wheat toast with syrup and powdered sugar splashed over it. I should have brought my camera just to document how nasty it was…..
Disappointed, disgusted, there weren’t enough words to adequately describe what passed for “food” in this place. We passed J O in the parking lot on the way back to the bikes and I told him that Mickey D’s would be a MUCH better choice for breakfast if, and when, we could find one.

Rollin’ west on ID21, into the Sawtooth National Recreation Area
All these peaks are in excess of 8,000’

Looking back into the morning sun, towards Stanley

We missed the turnoff to Lowman/Crouch and ended up in Idaho City – where we brain-stormed the route change and peeled off a layer of clothing as it was warming up quickly.
Our map-reading malfunction treated us to some newly applied licorice as we departed south towards Boise.

About 10 miles east of Boise, we crested the hill to see Lucky Peak Lake and State Park

Dam………

Managing, quite well I might add, to get split up just outside of Boise / Garden City – Mystic, Duck and I found ourselves heading northbound on ID55 towards Horseshoe Bend

We all managed to re-group at Horseshoe Bend and, as this restaurant was at the end of the street that we met up at……….lunch at Kit’s Riverside Restaurant

Turkus = Turkey Burger

Burger porn…..

Mother always used to say: “Don’t talk with your mouth half full – fill it up !!”

The next 20+ miles would look something like this….everyone on their way home to Boise from, presumably, Cascade and McCall

We finally managed to break free of all the traffic, for a little while, and were treated to a much better view

Leaving McCall, ID – heading towards New Meadows…..

…….and disaster – the Bug-eyed Motobrick had shifted for the last time – tranny go bye-bye

Some days you’re the windshield…..some days you’re the bug…

3+ hours later the tow truck arrives from McCall – just about 20 minutes back down the road

J O tryin’ to bribe the driver with a lifetime supply of burgerz for his troubles…..

This probably where M O was taking her shot of Duck and I out the back window of the tow truck….

You know the rest of the story………..

Duck, Red and I eventually got around the lumbering tow rig and took off on a “spirited” ride back alongside the Salmon River to Clarkston, WA and the hotel

Then up Iderhoe’s version of Sweeper Madness from Slate Creek to White Bird Summit – that’s Duck in the lower left side of the picture – we were haulin’ a$$ up this hill, averaging every bit of 80mph at some points – a little too fast to be taking photos

Into Grangeville for a quick pit stop, add a layer, change the specs and make a dash for the hotel

Off into the sunset we go…..

As J O sez:………more later

Thanks Scott - same ride, different perspective always makes it interesting  :D

That's just about all I have for our group (that are viewable anyway - exposure and focus issues plagued quite a few of my shots - the rest are in my Photobucket account if you want to see 'em).....
I have a few more from when Steve and I headed south to Baker City, OR on Monday and then my way home to Seatucky on Tuesday

Hopefully J O won't mind the hijack  ;)
