Yes the one in the back is a classic R, but it was my father's so sue me.
Question - looking at all these nice RS Bikes, is the rear half of the K11RS Front fender a straight swap for the LT one? Much cleaner, and no need to fiddle with the fender to get at the calipers.
Here's mine.
There you have it.

my current k: '92 k75rt/c with vintage tracy fairing.Do not have a Brick yet,but will soon be looking for one.The 1st one in these three pics is what Im looking for.Love the simple un-cluttered look.I would probably remove the rear bags and hardware for a cleaner line.Love the way the rear wheels seem to "float" without any attachments.I have my RT to tour with, the Brick would be for local rides with my buds.

Not mine but the guy who bought it back in 1985 still owns it and brought it by to have me adjust the idle and TB sync it. Then I took it for a spin around the hood. :2thumbup:
Check out the mileage. Soon after he bought it he got deployed to Germany and lots of other places since then (Air Force) so it has spent most of it's life in storage.
The color is pretty close to Mystic Red, my digital camera doesn't do it justice.

This one isn't mine.... I just came across some pics I took at a show in Rhinebeck, NY two summers ago.
Wish I could tell you something about this machine, but I just don't know. I think it was for sale but I'm not even sure about that. I love the aluminum bodywork to match the aluminum tank, the rearsets, the exhaust, the strap-ons, and how far the front end is lowered.
Just had my first trip with my new old K75 rt. This is my first bike and I love it!

It's Spring in VT!! :yes
That one is a Cortech Super 14 liter. I bought it last year when the zippers blew out on my OEM bag. I have put a few thousand miles on it. for me it is good for daily use, though I find it a little small if I am in tourist mode. But it fits between the bars and stays in place and that is a beautiful thing. :bmwsmile
Here is my new to me K1100LT bought this fall before I deployed, have had it out 6-7 times this year already. (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/03/01/a9yheqa3.jpg)(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/03/01/emy2e2u2.jpg)
Need to get some better shots. Here's the day I bought it 3 weeks ago about 10 minutes after I got it off the trailer. I had rode it about 45ft LOL Put 130 miles on it now.
Its a 95 K1100lt paint code 707 Morea Green.
Just joined the forum recently and introduced myself on the front porch. Here's the bike I'm babysitting (and maybe buying). I'm currently trying to resolve some electrical issues with this fine machine.

Is your 1100RT kinda cream colored? With those pinstripes it looks so nice.
So I am asking for advice... shall I restore it to its original condition?, turn it into a Kafe Racer?... re sell it at a nice price? how rare is this bike?
Who is a good K bikes parts supplier?

Please don't cafe that k! The K1 is not everyone's cup of tea, but it's special.... if you whack off the back of the frame and put on strap-ons, it won't be special any more.

hope that I am not braking any mayor rule in this forum for posting a picture of a different bike, well its a bimmer anyway.....You're breaking an inter-galactic rule, german996. That's a beemer—a good-looking one, too. "Bimmers" are cars, even in the oak and mesquite-clad Verdugo Hills, where, as a boy, I listened to coyotes, helped my family push mud out the front door that had broken through the back patio doors during a mudslide, and watched the hills burst into flame every now and then with sirens relentless wailing in the background—that is, when I could see through the smog on the way to John C. Fremont elementary.
Does that mini-fenderette on the back tior actually do anyting? It's a mud skirt designed to reduce the number of manly-generated dirt clods contaminating the squeeze who is riding pillion.
i really love my GS, I know its FUGLY as hell, but goodlooking at the same time, thats why I bought a beautiful K75S to counter balance the ugliness....
I have owned my '85 K100RT for twenty-nine years, and still rode it this morning.

Hello, I've just realised that this is the correct place to show off my bike and not the newbie welcome thread... so here is my project.Exceptionally low seats!
These are the only pictures i have of the bike.
So i paid £400 for this 2 weeks ago, some may argue i paid to much for the state of it and some may say i got a bargain but i bought this off a Police officer from my local town, if i cant trust him for a good bike then who can i trust lol... Anyway enjoy.

It's always a good idea to run a bottle of Techron through your system at least once a year. I use half a bottle with a full tank and do it twice in succession. Although Johnny will probably deny, it I think he uses it on himself for a good cleanout. This might explain a few things.I just ordered some. I run Lucas through. I've tried Seafoam too. I'll happily try this as well. I'm an additive addict.
Regards Martin.
My 1995 K1100LT lives outside and I don't want it stolen and it even lives on the street. I run a solar trickle charger on the trunk. She's a hooptie.....Er,what's your hooptie look like please?I might have one too.

My 1993 K75S on long ride back from bike week. Shorter than standard windscreen by Gustafsson Plastics reduces turbulence a bit (windscreen trim not by Gustafsson). White wheels look cool but show dirt more - I got the 18 inch rear with a virtually new Pirelli 160/60 18 on ebay for just over $200. Final drive change to 2.81 was this bike's best mod.
Wow, that's beautiful! You need to show more pics.
How about posting a photo of your bike in the Klassic K-Bike section, bikesnbones? It's interesting to see what other members are riding.

Your fuel tank filler cap is on backwards. That can create problems. Have we discussed that with you already, zipster?
. And the O2 sensor, which was failing. That's news! Where is it attached; do you have a photo? I haven't found it on the fiche list for K75. ABS is there. I thought O2 sensors were 4-valve creatures.
That's news! Where is it attached; do you have a photo? I haven't found it on the fiche list for K75. ABS is there. I thought O2 sensors were 4-valve creatures.Maybe you mean throttle position sensor. An O2 sensor on a K75 would be somebody's project, I'd guess. I don't know why else it would have one.
O2 sensor means it has a Motronic! That, or something else like wmax351's bike (http://www.motobrick.com/index.php/topic,6087.msg40877.html#msg40877)had for a while.
Hi folks! Here's a picture of my 1985 K75RT ABS (yeah I know that's not possible but...). I bought it 2 years ago for 2000€, and can say it's the best purchase I've ever made. I added heated grips, hazard lights, and a few oil changes. And the O2 sensor, which was failing. Picked up a used one from a Gipsy in Seville for €20. Oh, and I put in a new shock absorber and new springs in the fork.

What's the sensor that monitors the fuel injection on a K75?The fuel injection control unit or L-Jetronic.
Have you ever run your bike's identification number through a VIN checker to verify its model and year of manufacture, Jónico?
Yep. Its VIN says it's a K75C manufacturer in late 1985. Go figure. The rear disc is not stock K75C. They were drums. The larger alternators appeared around '94. Here's a site that tells some of the story (http://www.largiader.com/k75/khistory.html).
So now I'm curious about what bits of it are the 1985 bits and what stuff is newer.

greetings...Nice looking bike. Did you wear it out or sell it off or both?
the original motobrick...
Did you come up with the F suffix? There's a K75F (Frankenbrick) (http://www.kbikeparts.com/classickbikes.com/ckb/1.my.k.bikes/10_K75F/k75f.1.main.htm) created by a prolific contributor to K-bike sites. Your bike is unique, especially with the ABS. It seems like yours was somebody's platform for thoughtful modifications. It's a nice catch.
. . . pilfered it shamelessly. :yesShamelessly is definitely the way to go—much more relaxing. :giggles

New to me, I bought this bike near the Queensland border and rode it home to Sydney last week. Loving it so far :) It was imported from Japan with a Japan market single seat and tail storage.Looks great. Not a bad maiden voyage!
Love the rear hugger! - where did that come from?

Thanks for the feedback, I made the hugger myself after getting advice from a copper that I should have a guard. The problem I found was how to mount a strong guard. 3 1/4 exhaust pipe sleeves the shock perfectly and a hand glasses guard later here we are!!** hand glassed guard***

Interesting bike there, gumbo. The aux lights and drum brake make me think it may have started life as a K75T, then someone replaced the windshield with an R90s clone and added the K75s belly fairing. Looks good.Yes Your right and the handlebars or different also..

(http://www.motobrick.com/gallery/2/6539-070719092245.jpeg)Hi. Nice looker. What’s the suspension like on it, considering the springs are original?
30 year old brick which I've had for the past 23 years. Do about 3,000 km a year.
I've done very little to it beyond tires, oil changes, fork oil once, batteries about a dozen times or maybe a bit less than that, gear box oil once, final drive oil once.
Valves should be checked.
Brakes should be bled.
That's arguably one of best motorcycles from BMW. If you must chop one up, to make a "flavor of the month" project bike, consider finding a shitty one to molest. That one is too nice, IMO. They're only original once.
As per Scott good original K75's are getting thin on the ground. Makin org a Coffee racer or scrambling a Brick reduces it's practicality and rideability, ride it for a while before you commit to that path. In 20+ years I've but only ever seen two café Bricks on the road both recently. I've seen quite a few in the build stage that never get finished or if they do they are ridden briefly until the novelty wears off. Most end up stuck in a shed or behind a shed under a tarp. Ride it as stock for a while and you'll fall in love with it.
Regards Martin.
!985 k100 rs , still in the process of making it run.It runs, then doesn't,then it runs again...
With all the help I get here, it will happen,THX
curious, what product did you use. ? looks great.
Nice, another 85' K, the finest year :laughing1:. Hopefully you get it running properly soon. Here's mine! I recently ceramic coated the entire bike. It came out better than I expected!
nostalgic reason is that I was born in 1994, so this bike is as young as I am!
It's an '85 K100 RS, but look it's got ABS, and the later rear grab handles. Is the fuel tank mounted to the frame at the rear with one bolt? How about running the last seven digits of its VIN through this checker (https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select?product=M&archive=1) and telling us what it indicates?
