Shock absorber
« on: September 21, 2014, 03:40:16 PM »
I'm looking for progressive rear shock absorber for my K100rs. Anyone knows if we can replace it from any other motorcyckle? This which I found for K100 are accessories and expensive like a hell. Help needed.

It depends how well you want it to work...

Anything of a length to give you an appropriate ride height and holes that the mount bolts fit through will 'work' after a fashion, but probably won't be 'optimal'. If you don't mind losing a bit of rear height, an ST1100 rear shock will 'fit'. It'll be a shade stiff (ST is a little heavier) but if you find an aftermarket one you could get it revalved -- but then you're looking at time and money again.

The problem is that having a monoshock in twinshock position is pretty rare, so there aren't many options out there compared to other systems.

Several options. Not an unusual subject.

Visit the forum's main Search page and search for "rear shock". Or use Google to search MotoBrick.com

Have found many options, and the very interesting looks like: http://allegro.pl/amortyzator-ohlins-tyl-bez-ceny-minim-yamaha-honda-i4624918506.html
The distance between bolts is 39 cm, no information about bolts diameter.

I found nice shock absorber but is 39 cm long and the original should be 35 cm. Anyone have that knowledge what will happens if I use that one? Is 4cm big issue?
