Handlebars/controls
« on: October 08, 2021, 06:08:36 PM »
Need advice on what controls and handlebars to get for 93 K1100 build. It's a budget build so looking for something reasonable that will work well with a little rewiring.

Are you replacing the stock Lunchbox instrument cluster?

If you're going to keep a choke here's a clean solution I found that the handle mounted choke/cable assembly from a  97-01 DUCATI MONSTER 750 M600 M750 M900 will work like a charm.

If you're going to ditch the stock gauges the easiest solution is buying a BEP 3.0 grabbing some inexpensive handle bar controls for 7/8" bars and wiring it all up that way.

Do a quick search on the BEP and you'll see what I mean.

The BEP 3.0 is exactly what I was hoping existed.  Getting one to replace the lunchbox and the Monster controls look great. Found the BEP on Amazon and now just need to source the bars and controls. Is there a go to parts/company you like for cafe conversion parts?

Yea check out cafe4racer.eu or https://www.caferacerwebshop.com/

Both great companies run by great guys. You can also get clip on handle bars from amazon I can't recall the size of the stock forks, grab a set of calipers and measure them.

As for controls, it's up to you. There are some good cheap ones out there, just depends on the look you're going for.

Also check out this Facebook group, lots of great people and immediate responses.

Wow, that looks amazing. So is it the Ducati switchgear and cables or BMW cables and Ducati switchgear?

The controls, levers and throttle control were all a mix of aftermarket parts.
