K1200GT (2003-ish)
« on: October 13, 2023, 04:53:16 PM »
I spied one of these for sale the other day and had never seen one before. Looks like they have some unique adjustable handlebars as well as 2 height positions for footpegs maybe.

Any reason we don't see more of them?

It's likely we don't see more of them because the version introduced in 2003 was only made from 2003–2004, according to MaxBMW's parts fiche.

Also: is it really a K bike?

It isn’t a brick!

Transverse mounted engine (rather than longitudinal, as God intended).

It isn't a classic Brick, PMP but it is a Brick because it's an '03-ish model.  :laughing4-giggles:

Transverse heresy production started overlapping with Bricks in late 2004, according to MaxBMW.

Indeed! Actually, why isn’t it a classic brick? A brick’s a brick!

And Wikipedia can be your friend!  Especially since I’ve edited it with updates after some more internet “research”.

Its front suspension is completely different except it still is attached to only one wheel. The engine appearance is less bricky and more bar-of-soapy.
