Why I ride
« on: September 24, 2012, 05:20:04 PM »
Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

I have done from the wine country to Santa Cruz/ Aptos area a couple of times on a Boxer. Great Ride. Should be better on a brick.

PCH is one of my most favorite roads.
I do it 1 or 2 times a year.
Usually camp out in Fernwood in Big Sur.
In 1977 I left L.A. with $300 & a credit card.
I thought I was rich.
Got on Hwy. 1 and followed the coast all the way to the Puget Sound.
Then went to Victoria & Vancover and back.
I did it in a 1966 M.G. Midget. My first car.
The first time I rode it on a bike was in 2000.
When I was little I was a Then Came Bronson fan.
I did it on a Harley Sportster.
It's defiantly a bucket list ride.
My other favorite roads are Hwy. 49 & Hwy 108 Sonora Pass

Bah! That's good.  My first trip down the coast (aside from with my parents when I was 6) was in my 73 Midget with a buddy to go see the Huskies win the 81 Rose Bowl in Pasadena.

In 1976, my new wife and I hitchhiked the coastal road from Squim, WA to Tijuana and then kept going to Ushuaia. Tool a looooong time. Then about 4 years ago I did the section from SF to Ft Bragg in a rental car. In a couple of days, it'll be my turn on the K75. :2thumbup:
