FS: custom low seat for standard K75
« on: March 04, 2023, 11:00:08 AM »
This was on my 86 K75C when I bought it.  It's a Corbin pan with a low seat and cover from an upholstery shop in Oregon.  It's too low for me but is in good shape and works fine with stock hardware.  $75 plus actual shipping cost.  Will meet you if you are local to Houston, TX.

That looks like a well-remodeled Corbin Gunfighter.

Corbin Gunfighters do not have a shaped passenger seat. The rear is shaped to match the tail cowl slope. I've never seen a low seat Gunfighter. Standard seat Gunfighter:

Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

Well, you have now because it was probably remodeled when reupholstered.   icon_cheers From Corbin's descriptive text, . . . featuring a deep sculpted bucket . . .. It's perfect for gun-fighting lovers on a crime spree.

Challenge: Find me one picture of a low seat Gunfighter. Good luck!

(Hint: Corbin only ever made one style K low seat - and it had a sculpted pillion seat.)

Challenge: Find me a photo of the sloshing contents of a transcontinental bus latrine. Bon voyage! Hint: There's a Greyhound Bus station in Seattle.

Any idea why they never made a Gunfighter for pre-1986 K100's?

Corbin could have been waiting to determine if the K-series would be attractive to wannabe desperados and renegades. That was a good strategy because the tail cowl change in the later models would have meant re-designing the product.  177381 177381

Action shot with the seat on the bike at the Dalles (OR) a few years ago.  Looks good on the bike (I think) but I needed more leg room and went back to the stock seat.

I like the birds-in-flight element captured in that shot.  112350
If you want to make a Brick's seat comfortable enough for all-day riding, you'll skillfully remodel it with one of these products—the Classic and Slimline are candidates, and maybe the contoured models would work well. My Brick's seat was modified with this stuff; it's now a pleasure to ride long distances.

In the US the K100 wasn't introduced until 1985. Making seats for a single year bike probably didn't make sense to them.

That's my guess.

Is this seat still available? Think it will fit a '91 K75S?

Yes, still available.  I think it will fit a 91 K75s; the part numbers of the seats are the same (per MAX microfiche). PM sent.
