Title: New/Old K bike guy.
Post by: Teutonic Timmy on August 10, 2019, 05:08:04 PM
Hello, I am Timmy. I am a retired motor sergeant from the Washington DC police department.  I have always been a sport-touring guy ans that lead me to my first K bike, a 1985 K100RS.  Blue. I loved it and shouldn't have sold it, but I did.  A few bikes later, and I decided to get another K100.  While I was looking for one, I came across a totaled VFR800 for 1800 bucks.  I bought it and fixed it and fell in love with it.  The VFR forum I joined, VFRD was very active and had a bunch of organized rides. I started going to Franklin North Carolina each May to meet with my VFR buddies and explore the Smoky Mountains.  When my time with the police was up, I moved to Maryville Tennessee and took a job as the rental manger in a Harley Davidson dealership.  While at work there a visitor showed up on a K75s and I started a conversation with him about how great those bikes were.  A few weeks later I contacted an old friend in Wisconsin about her K75.  She sold it to me for an incredible price and is even going to deliver it to me on Monday.  So watch out for photos of a groovy bike with groovy backgrounds coming up.

The new K75 joins my others:  2000 Honda VFR, 2002 Honda VFR, 1876 Moto Guzzi 850T, 1980 Moto Guzzi 1000sp, 1980 KZ1000j, 2005 Harley Davdson FLHSTC, and 1081 Suzuki GS450T.

Welcome, great looking 75S. Per chance, would you know another retired Metro motorcop "Teddy" whose son is a musician? Cheers

Beautiful motorcycle.  Love the red version.

Reading your list of motorcycles I wonder if adding the K75 to the garage with my Vespa scooter has caused some flare up of a Moto disease.  For years I was content with the scooter.  Now that I've had the motorcycle for a few weeks I'm already thinking I should add another.  And another.

Is there a vaccine??

Welcome to Motobrick!

Put 50 miles on it right away. I forgot how instantly familiar these bikes are.

It's a beautiful motorcycle -- one that would stand out from the crowd.  I had never ridden a K75 until I got mine a few weeks ago and as you say, it was instantly familiar to ride.
