With my wife's help I have decided that I need some room in the garage so one of my bikes has to go. As much as I hate to do it, I have to put Cheetos the 1994 K75S up for sale to a good home where she'll be safe from loopers.
Bike is listed on Craig's list: https://buffalo.craigslist.org/mcy/d/wales-center-1994-bmw-k75s/6776240036.html
All service is done and it's ready for a fly and ride. If anyone wants to go that route, I will do anything necessary to help you make it happen.
Note: Corbin seat in photos has been replaced with stock seat.

Whaaat? :johnny
Too many motorcycles? You just need a bigger garage!
Good luck on the sale. Selling the Corbin seat?
-
A bigger garage would be nice, especially since I would probably be sleeping there.
The Corbin seat was moved to Moby Brick too. Believe it or not, it's harder to sit on than the OEM bench seat. The OEM seat is in better shape too. I wouldn't want to make anyone sit on that Corbin on a fly and ride deal. I did it from Texas, and regretted it for a week afterward. It looks nice, but it's really only good for an hour or less. My plan is to see if I can put some softer foam in it.
However, I am thinking of selling my Russell Day Long. $200 + shipping.

:musicboohoo: Gryph how can you sell Cheetos, it's like selling one of your family. I already feel your pain. Could always get a garden shed, or a carport, or hide one at a mates place.
Regards Martin.

Martin, I'm getting a little older and and sooner or later all this stuff is going to have to go. Might as well get a little head start on it now while the bikes are still well maintained and have relatively low mileage. Seriously, it's hard for me to sell this bike. It runs good and as you and any S model owner will agree, it is probably the sweetest handling of the K75 line.
-
BTW, If anyone wants to do a fly and drive, but is stymied by the weather, I will store the bike for no charge until you feel the weather is good enough to make the trip or until May15, 2019. During that period it will be indoors, covered with a trickle charger once a week for 24 hours, and run approximately 10 minutes every two weeks to warm the engine and circulate the oil and coolant. Of course, I will be available to pick you up at the airport for the trip to the bike. I will ship the spare parts at no charge so you don't have to carry them.
If you choose to use a transporter, I will do whatever is necessary to make the shipping as painless as possible.

Gryph I've never seen one in Cheeto's colour in OZ, and it does look good. One of my three favourite colours for 75s's. :Rabia: I refuse to get rid of mine but the Honourable Minister refuses to have it buried with me. Over the years I have had to resort to handle bar and seat mods to enable me to keep on riding. :oldguy: In ten years time I might have to find a trike conversion for it. :laughing-on-ground:
Regards a sympathetic Martin.

Oh TMG you are killing me, I have been hankering after a K75S and yours is a great example! Fly and drive to San Jose Costa Rica would be quite a trip!
-
MG:
Why sell this one and not the K75 RT? I like all my bikes, but love sitting at 80MPH on the 75S.

My BIL said he wanted Crunchy Cheetos for Christmas ... too bad he doesn't ride.
-
oooh, that's tempting but my K75 is the jealous type and would probably blow it's HES if Cheeto showed up in the garage next to it.

Mine get along well.

Finally I know what I want for Christmas.
-
FilmCamera, it would be the adventure of a lifetime.
As far as selling Cheetos instead of Ilsa, She Wolf of the SS, I do most of my touring in the off season to avoid the tourists, and the jacked-up prices that follow them. Specifically, I get on the road in October and late April. It seems that a lot of my touring is in snow, and the extra protection of the RT fairing is very welcome.
Cheetos, on the other hand, with the cut down windscreen has no helmet turbulence and lots of air flow for hot days. Unfortunately, my RS has about the same ergonomics, and has the ability to go a LOT faster. Also, Moby Brick Too is newer to me, and we're still on the honeymoon. I just got the refurb done and put it on the road in September.
Chaos, Bricks, seem to like company. Mine are like a family and I'm a little nervous that the others will get angry when they find out that their garage mate is leaving. I would guess that Cheetos and your S would become best buddies.
-
At least there is a thought process to the loss. Thanks for entertaining stupid questions !
YOu are right about the cold: I took my 75S for a spin in 40F weather, and after 1/2 hour I was beginning to feel the pain.
Happy riding.

My offer is $1650.
Ouch!!! I just hurt myself laughing... You are a really funny guy!
-
When you decide to accept my offer, I will have Lew Alcindor tic over the engines on the Seven Oh Seven and apply maximum thrust towards socialist state of New York.

I want it too . . . but I'm not even sure where I'll be living come July 1.
-
Ad is still there Jo, and the price is still $2950(negotiable for Motobrickers). Roads around here are saltier than anchovies until well into April. A cheque with the appropriate numbers on it will hold the Cheetos until roads are dry and salt free. During that time, I will diligently protect Cheetos, even to the point of starting and idling the engine with the transmission in 1st gear until the fan cycles at least twice.
-
$1650 it is, and I'll even toss in the drive train for another $1500.
-
I was sad when they dropped the Drive Train Toss from the summer olympics.
