In the process of doing a custom paint on the tank of the 93 k1100rs with Dneper sidecar. Prior owner looks to have painted the originally red bike black with striping. Also fixing some bad wiring joints, general maintenance, and a good cleanup. I took the airbox and a bunch of other items out today to continue my inspections. There was a clattering noise when low speed first starting out in first gear... Debating looking at the clutch and driveshaft...
After a few days of removing 31 years of history through 8 layers of paint. Even with heavy paint remover, it was difficult. Tank is in great shape with one spot of minor pitting which was repaired and got the first coat of etching primer on it. Wait until you see the paint job I have in store.... :)
