Farewell, and thank you
« on: June 06, 2021, 08:44:57 AM »
I sold my K1100LT yesterday. I had it on Facebook for a couple months and a young fella and his Dad came over from Michigan with a trailer and picked it up. It was a 4 hour drive or so for them - that signals a motivated buyer when they drive that far (and through Chicago traffic) to come look at a bike.

I rode it as recently as yesterday morning. I had a meeting at a town about 10 miles or so from here and I needed to put some fuel in it. It was a beautiful morning for a final ride.

It was a good experience - the best riding bike I have ever had. It was just starting to feel a little heavy for me when pushing it around the garage. I'm not sure if I will be getting another bike or not. Last time I sold a bike it took me 6 years to make up my mind to get another. There's a fella where I work has a late model Burgman scooter for sale....

I had the bike for 4 years and sold it for more than I had in it, and probably got 1/3 if the wear out of the tires. A lot of that is due to this forum and the collective wisdom that is available here. THANK YOU!!

Sad to hear, but unfortunately, none of us can ride forever.  I know that I'm getting closer to that day when my RT will be too much to move around the garage or parking lot.  I hope I can squeeze out a couple more years on my K100RS after I hang up my RT horizon chaser.

Good luck in the future!

Im certain your contributions here concerning the rehabilitation of your moto are helpful to others. It's getting to the point where the TW200 is now looking pretty good for me up in the mountains. I'll just need to accept that when riding it, I'll seem like a lost Shriner looking for his drill team.  :laughing4-giggles:

Good luck!
