Thank you Laitch.  Inspiring for sure, indicates at least some do-ability.

The look of the wide police bars is somewhat debatable, but at the risk of appearing to be some sort of bush-basher, I like the protection that those bars look like they might afford.  Is that member still active on this (or another) forum, I'd be interested to see more detailed photos of the attachment points.

Heres a couple pics of the new to me brick.  Yes, I have the mirrors and bags and one of the side covers.  Missing a side-cover and a fairing compartment cover.

It seemed to smooth out low speed running a little, it wasn't so jerky off idle in slow speed situations.  Sold the bike shortly after doing the modification so no long term perceptions.

The main thing was that the idle was a little smoother, about what I could get with a good throttle body balance.  It could be the response of the pressure regulator to changes in throttle was a bit better because there were three vacuum ports pulling on the regulator diaphragm instead of one.  I suspected that better regulator response might help the backfiring on overrun, but never got a chance to test it.

It certainly didn't hurt anything.

So what do you reckon Gryph has it improved your slow speed and your throttle response?

I will check the running in idle with propane.
In fact one of the screws needed a bit more turning!

And … upon looking at the injectors i discovered something that looks like a fracture in the rubber under the 2nd TB FECK!
You might be onto something Laitch.

. . . the bike is running very good except the slightly highish idle plus smell of petrol . . .
Those damnable exceptions.  177381 Before doing the throttle body synch, did you lightly spray propane, Mapp, or carburetor cleaner on the throttle body manifolds at the cylinder head for leaks while the engine was running? When you were synching the throttle bodies at idle using the air bypass screws, were all screws fairly close to being turned out the same amount or did one screw need much more adjustment than the others?

I just used 2x5mm Tees and 4mm vacuum line. The vacuum line required lubrication to get it onto the Tees I don't believe a vacuum block is needed. The 2 Tees in a Champion Pack were $8.00 Au and the 4mm vacuum line was $8.00 a metre.
Regards Martin.

That is what I did.  Cost less than $10.

If that was correct there would be no effect of adjustment at 3krpm.
I am not saying I am right here but the bike is running very good except the slightly highish idle plus smell of petrol - I wonder if this might have something in common with the adjustment of the TB up high.

Can you post a pic of your vacuum block?

Personally I would think that with the butterflies open more than idle, the brass air flow adjusters would have little to no effect.
They are supposed to let air flow around the butterfly plate when it's closed, IE at idle.
