K75 port & polish heads
« on: January 19, 2021, 03:30:47 PM »
Out on a ride last year I ran into a guy that said he had a 1993 K75 just like mine. Among other things, he said he did a port & polish on it and it made such a huge difference that the front end would come up off the ground. I have no plan on doing this because I don't need any more horses but I was wondering; was this guy pulling my leg? What do you guys think? Would it make that much difference in horsepower?

There is a video on YouTube showing a K75RT doing wheelies so I suppose it's possible.

Who knows?  The guy in the video may be the guy who you were talking to.

It's got a lot to do with technique. I had a mate that could get just about anything up, including a Honda 90 Postie bike. I've accidently got my front to lift a couple of times when I first got it, but from a standing start. There is a school that you can attend. http://wheeliezone.com.au/

I popped a wheelie, once, just once, accidentally, with my young son on the back of the '85 k100RT.

Wheelie discussion aside, has anyone done any exhaust port cleaning / matching exhaust pipes to head type work?

I'm kinda thinking some of you guys are riding the wrong bike.

Thanks schrocketeer,
You took the words right out of my mouth. Very curious if anyone has done this?

Look here. They've been doing it for a while and they aren't keeping it a secret.  :laughing4-giggles:
