hi guys, I have a similar problem with my K1100LT. I want to remove the standard instrument pod, but the starter motor won't work, clutch in or out, in gear or neutral, without the instrument pod plugged in. Is there a known work around for this? I guess a certain resistor between two of the pins on the plug? Or can you direct me to a wiring diagram that shows the pin-out for the whole plug? I might be able to resolve if from there. Thanks, Malcolm

OK so first off. Two bad  bikes you have there. Did you end up with the fork swap or sit rework the stock?  second seat and rear fender what are they from? I'm in the process of doing the same thing with my k75

hi there. I'm pretty sure that I don't understand your question. Which bike are you talking about? Malcolm

You'll find the instrument cluster pinout in a pdf from the Technical Library. There are many threads here about instrument substitutions. What you do varies from brand to brand. There are aftermarket products that might help the transition, too.
