Could you clearcoat the pieces that don't get too hot?

Now, I'm looking for good idea how to protect that raw aluminum to slow down oxidation and dirt. Will not paint that as it needs to be dissmatled all for pats.
Any idea?

Clear lacquer will do the job, especially on such a well prepped surface. I have a similar situation upcoming with a Vanguard Hot Rod [ car ] I'm building. The dilemma is I want to preserve the look you have now - ie matt. I imagine spraying a normal clear lacquer will add it's own "shine". :dunno2:

Then again if the bike is stored indoors and not ridden in salt the aluminum will keep its look for a long time

I don't know if Gibbs Lubricant is available in your country, but this stuff is incredible. Aluminum will actually 'drink' it in.

"Use it on aluminum crankcases, cylinder heads, valve covers and intake manifolds to prevent the oxidizing that is a natural occurrence with bare aluminum parts."

You can always use a flattening agent in your 2 part clear coat for non-polished aluminum pieces...

Hey PiotrK100. I got a question or two or three

1.) Was this professionally done?
2.) Did you do it in pieces of the engine (ie lower crankcase) or the block as a whole?
3.) Where did you get the caps to plug the holes?

thanks!

Piotr hasn't been around since November.  I think he sold the brick last summer.

I am curious though, do you sand/glass blast this in pieces or altogether?

In pieces unless you have a really big cabinet.  I don't think Piotr had one.  I hate to think of the messes he had to clean up.
