Added a non-BMW bike to my stable
« on: November 03, 2015, 07:55:36 AM »
Ok, first want to say I am keeping my K75.  Having said that I traded in two other bikes (Honda Rebel and a Yamaha) and came home with
a brand new 2014 Honda CB1100, a retro bike with many bells and whistles but not with ABS brakes on the standard model I bought.
Styled after the decades-old CB500 and such like, lit has an inline four, fuel injection, and is as smooth or nearly as smooth as the K75.
Six speed tranny and just 3000 rpms at 60 mph...amazing pickup and acceleration through the gears..Huge discount.

But, I realize for most readers on this BMW forum that this is ho-hum stuff.  So I'll just leave it right there.

I didn't know about this one. It's a nice looking rig. In olden times, I was partial to the CB400F; this one looks similarly attractive. 60mpg is Honda's fuel economy claim. Hang $1000 worth of Hepco and Becker racks and cases on it, Bokobob, and you'll have something useful there. :hehehe

Thanks for Windjammer and bags suggestions..I'll be looking into farkles as time goes along.
I am attempting to post a very nice photo of a stock CB1100 but it is a deluxe and mine is black with blacked out engine sides, less chrome and so forth..I don't have a good photo my personal CB1100 yet.

It's the Berlin/ Tokyo Axis revived! I've got a Kawi and a Beemer. They get along fine. We'd be fools not to acknowledge excellence across the manufacturing spectrum. I've been eyeing a Moto Guzzi. Interesting looking bikes, just like the Beemer. We'll see.
As for the Honda it got good reviews. It apparently does lots quite well, although the reviewers squawked that the bike didn't produce more horsepower. How fast do you need to go??
Enjoy the ride....both motorcycle and life.

Check...Goodness is in the eye of the beholder...The CB1100 is a street bike..I has scads of pickup but is not a racer...No, I won't be challenging a Haybusa or anything else for that matter...I will never find out how fast mine goes....I can check out the ratings if I want, but why?

I am wondering if the tattoo on the bikini-clad beauty is the "blue bird of happiness?"

She'll get no sympathy in the emergency room when she catches those heels on something and slides down the road .....
