DRxBMW (Gary Weaver)
« on: November 15, 2017, 08:59:26 AM »
Hi everyone, just saw this sad news about DRxBMW over on the K-bike Yahoo group:

For those of you who knew and/or liked him:

I'm sad to say that DRxBMW Gary Weaver of "Billtown" Williamsport, PA suffered a stroke on Sunday November 12.  His brain is dead.  He is an organ donor.  As of today (Tuesday the 14th) his body is being kept alive until they part him out.

Sad news.  I had some dealings with him.  He was a great guy.  R.I.P.

DRxBMW posted a wealth of insight while wielding his quirky sense of humor and eclectic knowledge. I'll always appreciate his useful and interesting contributions.

Thanks for posting, these forums so often leave everyone in the dark when things like this happen.  Best wishes to his family, friends and organ recipients.

I'm super sorry to hear that. His K75 is my PMT and I intend to ride it for at least another 50k miles.

I purchased Gary's 1994 K75 with a Bruno-rebuild drivetrain, Ohlins shock, Parabellum Scout and 175k miles on it for his asking price because just the drivetrain and shock alone was worth it. I put the engine, tank, and plastics from my 1995 117k mile K75 on it.  Gary's now has now has 183k miles and counting.

Gary was quite a character. That K75 was a huge part of his life for 24 years and I know he was sorry to see it go. I told him I wouldn't part it out -- so, Gary, I kept my promise. I kept yours and parted out mine.

RIP Gary Weaver -- your bike lives on.

RIP Gary.  He was exactly 11 days younger than me,  very sobering.

Five years in my case, but I had the same thought, brother.
