Adding a resistor to reduce the flashing speed of indicators

I am about to add in resistor(s) in parallel between ground and the positive wire coming from the relay box which goes to an indicator.
Ive been reading a lot of different methods for rectifying the old indicator speed but havent seen this.

I will add a couple of resistors per indicator in parallel as i am anal and want to avoid overheating.

Although you haven't explicitly mentioned it in your post, should we assume that you are replacing the incandescents with LEDs.

If so, then don't use ballast resistors as you intend.  They may work for Jap bikes with a simple flasher relay but they aren't great for BMWs with a complex flasher module.  There are three techniques to slow down the hyperflashing:
1. cut a trace on the PCB of the flasher module to prevent hyperflashing
2. add a parallel capacitor to the circuit in the flasher module
3. modify the flasher module to make a LED friendly DIY version

If you add a couple of resistors to each indicator make sure that you double the resistance of the individual resistors used.

I am actually just using normal 6watt globes for the indicators and had planned on adding Power resistors.
I have accounted for adding the resistors in parallel.
