Screens for Bikes
« on: April 21, 2020, 09:14:33 AM »
https://www.screensforbikes.com/

Found these guys yesterday.  They have a really nice looking short windscreen for the K75/100RT/LT.

Price with shipping to the U.S. from OZ is $160.

Any of you guys from down under know about this company and their stuff?  I'd like to get that screen for my RT, but am afraid it will be as fragile as the Parabellum screens(I had 2) i had a few years back.

Stock windscreens can be found much cheaper and cut it down. I ride around for a couple of days with a piece of electrical tape on the screen and move it around until I find the perfect height that suits me. Mask it off and cut it with a band saw. Then draw file the edge.

Yes, I've done that in the past to a K75S screen.  Worked really well.

The deal with the screen I'm looking at is that it is sloped back more than the stock screen and that appeals to the vanity in me that wants it to look real cool.

I ordered a taller screen for my K75s from these guys. It didn't help the buffeting as [I think} the S has too much slope to make a taller screen much more effective. So I sent it back and  they cut it down to a shorty. You do have to drill your own holes, but they provide a special bit. I gave it to the guy who bought the bike.

Their short screen looks the same as the one from OZ, but will cost me at least $90 more and require me to drill my own holes.

As far as height, I'm hoping this one will put the turbulence on my chest and allow the helmet to run in clean air.  In any event, I want more air behind it than the stock screen allows.

I know that some of you have heard me say this before, but I am a huge fan of the Laminar Lip to cure helmet buffering. Inexpensive fix and transferable to different bikes.

I'm not looking to stop buffeting, I want more air behind the windshield.
