K100RS - work has started
« on: March 12, 2020, 10:50:12 PM »
Orig motor stopped pumping water. So I tore it down “a little”, I’ve had half a dozen bikes and been wrenching since my teens. I got an 85 motor EBay and I’ll mess with orig one later. Dad passed 20yrs ago and left quite a few tools in Moms garage and a lift too. I’m down here quite often, it’s 5hrs from my home. I’m thinking about changing rear susp to the new horizontal setup I’ve seen. I've already put progressive springs in forks yrs ago. The turbo setup from RB racing always gets my attention. I put a turbo on my Toyota Tundra 5yrs ago so I’m a little partial. Wondering how much psi this motor will put up with before it grenades.

I need to find the part# for the black gasket thing between alt and motor

-input on suspension is welcomed-

Welcome!
I knew a doctor who'd been practicing medicine for 30 years but his patients finally caught up to him and the medical board pulled his license.  :laughing4-giggles:

Go to the MAXBMW parts fiche and find the name and part number of the black gasket thing by consulting the diagram of the engine system that includes it. It'll help us understand what you're seeking and also make it easier to find it for purchase.

Maybe you've already read this but if you haven't, there it is for you or anybody else who might be interested.

If you're using the Attachments and other options feature below the message box to post photos, you won't be able to see those photos in Preview before you post them. They may only appear in the message box or preview as invalid attachment text or other code text, but they'll show up stacked below the text when you click the Save button. Starting a personal photo gallery is another method of posting them.

Welcome!

Even in the wake of a pandemic, there's Laitch waving them in..... he he. :welcome  .

I didn't find much info about turbocharging successes other than some one-off projects, A Bonneville racer perhaps?

Good Saturday AM Read- RB Racing Turbocharging page https://www.rbracing-rsr.com/bmwturbos.htm

185 hp K1100 would be sweet.  I’m not so greedy....now to learn about electric supercharging...
Article quotes RB pushed A humble k100 to 312hp, 206mph.
