Title: Bpmdnb 1990 K100 RS 4v Unique Build
Post by: Bpmdnb on April 06, 2019, 10:42:14 AM
Hoping someone has insight as to what might be the issue. Rescued a tatty non running 1990 k100rs4v last year with 28k miles,UK bike though I’m in Ireland. Found the problems, fuel pump & lines, fan motor & battery,so with that in mind, all fluids changed, new plugs, coolant flush & away she went. Started stopped 100%. Time for the fork seals,& progressive springs. Wheels & front discs off wheels sent to be powder coated, new pads, new braided brake lines & a host of other goodies. Clocks replaced with an acewell unit using a bep 3.0 all working fine except for actual speed, that’s another days work or question.
Anyhow have an led blinking light to replace the abs in old clocks,& it knocks off as per usual in a couple of feet to indicate function. Now here’s the issue,it’s still not the “finished” article but when I grab a handful of brake it stops to almost dead, seems to release momentarily  & bite again giving a whole new meaning to WTF is going on here. I’ve bled the brakes twice with a vacuum bleeder, hoping it was that, but no avail. Top yolk, handlebars (original) & all fork pinch bolts torqued & double checked. Don’t have a rear tail light or indicators hooked up yet,it will be an led strip built into the seat pan waiting to be sent off once I get to the bottom of this problem, whether it has an bearing or not just thought I’d add in case!
Any help insight or experience with similar issue would be greatfully received.
