WTT Engine protection bars for k75s or standard
« on: November 14, 2023, 04:12:25 AM »
Long shot here, but I purchased engine protection bars for all other K75 except the rt model

Anyone have a set for the rt they would like to trade for the set I have?
Let me know. The set I have is in very good shape and are black with some detachable highway pegs.
Thank you,
Lefthander

There is no dedicated engine protection bar for the K75RT except the police version which is rarely up for sale worldwide. You should publish a photo of the bars you're seeking. The standard protection bars can be fitted to an RT but holes need to be made for them to attache to the engine. A drop can crack the fairing when they're mounted on an RT, LT or through the belly pan of an S.

Below are two photos of standard engine protection bars on an RT and LT. Following them are police-style bars on an ex-police-version RT and a naked K75.

Thanks Laitch,
And the plate switches are coming. Finally recovered from a ten day stretch of COVID.

The third image, the white police bike, is mine.  :0

1995 K75 RTP, 1995 K75 RT, 1993 K75, two K75 frames, 1 fully assembled engine from airbox to exhaust tip and enough fairings and  parts to build another K. Soon.  ;)

Not true. There are three sets (ignoring black vs chrome) of K75 engine bars.

One set fits non-RT models. You can see here that the 46712303181 bars only fit standard, C and S models.
https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/partxref?id=0571-USA-02-1995-K569-BMW-K_75_85_0562,0571_&mg=46&sg=70&diagId=46_1274&q=46712303181&series=K569

The K75RT civilian bars are slightly wide to accommodate the RT fairing lowers:

And then there's the really wide police bars made to hold aux lights.
Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

Why do the text lines in the above link seem to indicate in parentheses that a 46712303181 can be found on a K75RT?
