what was left over, now to spend that on the "heavy duty vinyl/plastic U channel trim worn out on other sections of the fairing side covers. Max gets $9.95 for 800mm, not their typical bend over pricing. sources on ebay only had 25 footers..

"Hear ye all in the asylum,"
Thanks to the Google magic fingers of the Mighty Gryphon, I have 20 linear feet of what I estimate is an exact match of the OEM weatherstrip material on my project. If yours is like mine, the foam has deteriated from age and abuse and no the inner plastic edge is abrading the fuel tank paint paint job so aggressively that when I pulled the fairing off the first time the fuel tank now has a vanilla white stripe where the top coat has been worn off completely.
Upon receipt, and once I determine the ideal length I will offer these as a "kit" cut to exact length or by the foot, your option. One set will be roughly 3 linear feet, so @ 6$/foot lets say $18 each plus actual USPS first class mailing to your door. International friends need only ask kindly.

Dig the milky white diagonal stripe on the fuel tank right below the roundel where the fair rides. New weather seal won't fix this but it won't become worse either! Cheers Mates.

Is that picture from today??

You're talking about this trim, correct?

Kbiker:
that's exactly it sir. MrTenBrook noted that my order is 10 linear feet vs, 20' so I won't have as much extra as I guesstimated..
Thanks.

I have removed my left hand cover to take some measurements. Where the aftermarket one you posted measures 1/64", is nearly 3/32" on the OEM one. The "rail" on the back of the cover that the weatherstripping clips on to is about 1/32". While my bike is a K100RS and yours is a K1100RS, the gasket, which is what BMW calls it and comes in a 340mm length, is the same part number for both bikes.
I would like to know if it can be spread out enough to clip on to the rail on the rear of the cover. The other measurements look okay though. If what you purchased fits, I'm going to get some.

Any update on how this fit?

If you go into the project classic moto brick forum Mine is the only active thread and if you navigate to the final page maybe the fifth I took some good pictures it grabs the tang mounded into the fairing flank piece very very well. Ever so slightly deeper 2mm than OEM. A non issue. In corners it kinks. Mine fit sufficiently snug that I expect that will stretch tight for a smooth fir around the tank. Also thought when it gets very hot this summer it will conform to the tank I hope. Glad to share some btw…
