$1500 is a great price for 41,000 miles.  The yellow is an acquired taste thing, I guess.  Ace and I have sister ships.  The yellow really does look good with the black of the rest of the bike.

Some nice bricks being sold lately.  There was a nice 1989 K100RS special edition went about a week ago for just under $2k US in Toronto.

Martin, I am pretty sure I saw one in Europe on Bert's forum.   They really are pretty good looking in the flesh.  The yellow is a bit subdued, but not a washed out pastel and looks good with the black of the drive train components.

As far as yellow bikes, Suzuki motocrossers and Yamaha road racers come to mind.  I think part of the reason you don't see a lot of yellow around is that back in the 90's the EPA outlawed some of the pigments used for yellow paints because they contained chromium which was determined to be highly toxic and bad for some endangered fish or something somewhere.

They made a plum K75 also.  I think someone in the paint dept. had a special, cruel, hatred of the K75   :neener:

In the mid to late 80's that would have been a very hot color in Puerto Rico and a lot of the Caribbean, not to mention New York City.

Worked for Datsun in the mid 70's and they painted 180B's in a colour I think was called wild plum. The head salesman had his VW Manx  buggy painted the same. The worse colour they had which I can't remember the actual name was called baby poo brown by the staff. There has been some ridiculous colour trends over the years and some weird names to go with them. I don't think Dakar yellow is one of them.

I remember in the mid-70's going to NAPA and going through paint books as I was selecting paint for a car. There was a paint called I kid you not "Jessie Jackson Black".

Jack would like a yellow s1000rr :hehehe :hehehe .  He is still young enough to appreciate a little speed and confident enough to drive a yellow bike!
