The K bike virus (one bike will never do)
« on: March 19, 2017, 11:56:55 PM »
I found this bike for sale and the virus kicked in. (Kpox ?)  Just added a 2007 K1200GT to the mix.

I was very keen on finding a later K1100RS (with ABS2 and heated grips)  I like the look of the K1100RS bike.  In my opinion, it was one of the better BMW designs.  But a good used one for the right price eluded me and I stumbled on this beauty for the right price.

The K1200 will do things that the K75 won't.  And the K75 can do things that the K1200 won't.  I know that it isn't a brick, but I'm keeping both of them just the same.

Kpox is a hard to avoid affliction for some of us.  Here's what my case looks like.

I really like the K100RS decal on the white bike, is that an original or is it something you had made up?

I had it made at the local sign shop.  I think the text was Ariel Black on a slant.  When I took the artwork in, the guy in the shop was just finishing up some vinyl tank badges for another customer with an old airhead.  He said he would do a set of four to go with my artwork for an extra 5 bucks.  I had him do the blue parts with some blue Scotchlite material I had laying around.  Total cost was something like $12.

Next time I need tank badges that's where I'm going.  I can do 6 of them for less than what BMW wants for one.

LOL...i think all my car friends have a sign up sheet going to reserve the lift.  the "parking meter" for the lift is my shop beer fridge.  six pack of good IPA per hour is the rate.

6 pack per hour!  Not much serious or safe work performed after 2 hours!

That is a seriously nice garage.

three stage polyurethane.  rubber additive in top clear coat for traction.  i can dig up the brand name if needed.

your K1200GT looks great.  a friend i ride with has one just like it.
