WTB - K75 Staintune exhaust or similar
« on: January 23, 2017, 08:31:58 PM »
Considering an aftermarket muffler for my K75c. Nothing too loud, more interested in loosing weight and might modify it if is too loud.

If you have something let me know, or recommendations are welcome.

I have a MAC on mine and am VERY happy with it.  Great tone, not too loud.  May be a little louder than a Staintune but I've never compared them side by side. I've had Luftmeister (loud, couldn't keep it packed, fell apart on me) and a supertrapp (just bad on many levels)  I just now searched MAC and was surprised they still have a K75 muffle on their webpage. http://www.shop.macperformance.com/MAC-BMW-K-75-1986-1989-Chrome-Replacement-Muffler-006-0513.htm  $338, not bad compared to some systems I've seen.

My K75 came with a Staintune but I sold it last year and went back to the standard pipe, which I prefer. Here's a few pictures of how it looks.

It started doing that just this year.  I'm thinking of spraying some fan belt anti squeak on the peg.

Could be off an OZ bike. Hairspray will also work, I use it on hand grips.

Richarddacat-

Did you get your staintune muffler? I have one for a K75 in N. Central FL.

My stock muffler w 76 k is looking rough.. I have a better one on my parts bike...maybe a pod replaced it.

What do I need to know when I start cranking on fasteners on this muffler.

Penetrating oil soak

Heat.
